MILSOM ROBERT C. Age 92, of Fox Chapel, originally from Butler, PA, passed away, on Thursday, November 2, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Joan Miller Milsom; and loving father of Christine (Thomas) Kobus, Robert C. III (Toni) and Mark C. (Vicki); he was the devoted grandfather of Christy and Diana Kobus, Samantha, Robert IV and Cody Milsom, and Alexandra and the late Kiah Milsom. He was the son of the late Robert C. and Margaret Leyland Milsom; and brother of Jenna Reilly, the late Margaret, and the late Joyce Kummer (surviving Fred). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Bob Milsom was born in Butler, PA on December 15, 1924 and graduated from Butler High School. In the fall of 1942, he entered Duquesne University with basketball and football scholarships, but his college days were interrupted by World War II. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in January 1943. He served as a 1st Lieutenant in the 103rd infantry division in France and Germany and the Battle of the Bulge. At war's end, he was assigned to the 787 Military Policy Battalion. After his discharge, he entered John Carroll University, graduating in 1948. He began his career at Peoples First National Bank and Trust (predecessor to PNC Bank). During his career, he advanced through the Commercial Banking Division to become Chairman and CEO of Pittsburgh National Bank (predecessors to PNC Financial Services and PNC Bank). In 1983, he was also elected Vice Chairman of PNC Bank Corp. He was a member of the Board of Directors of PNC Bank, N.A. and PNC Equity Management. Bob retired at year-end 1989. During his tenure at PNC Bank, Bob also served on the boards of VISA USA, Inc., and VISA International. He was a delegate to the International Monetary Conference and served on the board of H. H. Robertson Company. Bob was a great champion for the western Pennsylvania region. He was an advocate of civic involvement and was extremely active in the Pittsburgh community. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Regional Industrial Development Corporation (RIDC). He served as Chairman of the Board of the Executive Service Corps, Foxwall Emergency Medical Service, Inc. and The Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh. Additionally, he was a member of the board of Pittsburgh Ballet Theater and John Carroll University. Throughout his career, Bob served on many other community boards, including the Allegheny Conference on Community Development, The United Way of Allegheny County, the Pittsburgh Regional Planning Association, and the Greater Pittsburgh Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the Duquesne Club, Fox Chapel Golf Club, and Rolling Rock Country Club. He was an avid reader, loved golfing and enjoyed all sports. He was a devoted family man, a true and trusted friend to many, and a great lover of the city of Pittsburgh. No Visitation, service and interment will be private. CHRISTOPHER DAVID Age 87, of Providence Point, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2017. Beloved husband of Jacqueline (Drane); loving father of Anne (John) Simon and Amy (Dan Staab) Tiemann; grandfather of Megan, Laura, Anna, and Christine; uncle to John and Tom Wilson. Dave Christopher had a long and successful career in the accounting and finance fields, having held senior management positions at an international accounting firm, a global law firm and at a financial and information technology consulting firm. In addition, he was an entrepreneur, starting his own executive search firm when others his age had been retired for years. He was also an active leader in multiple civic, community and political organizations. Dave retired from Price Waterhouse after more than 35 years of service, having held many significant leadership positions, including serving as Managing Partner of the Pittsburgh office, Managing Partner of the Ohio Valley Region and finally as Managing Partner of the Global Audit Practice, headquartered in New York City. He was a member of the firm's Management Committee for many years and was widely regarded as a true visionary in the areas of practice growth and client service expansion. As an Audit Partner, he served many of the firm's largest clients, including US Steel, Gulf Oil, Westinghouse and Mellon Bank. Upon his retirement, Dave joined the law firm of Reed Smith as Chief Financial and Administrative Officer during a period of significant growth for that firm. He later joined Tatum Partners of Atlanta, where he started Tatum CIO Partners, a leader in the information technology consulting business. Dave would often smile in recalling the irony of his leadership of an IT consulting company, given his “expertise” with computers. At the age of 72, Dave founded an executive search firm (the Jade Group) specializing in searches for senior executives in the finance, accounting, information technology and legal fields. He served as Chairman of the Jade Group until 2016. Dave was extremely active in civic and community affairs throughout his life, including serving as President and CEO of the Pittsburgh Symphony Society and serving for varying periods on the Boards of the American Symphony Orchestra League, the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall, Music for Mt. Lebanon, First Presbyterian Church of Pittsburgh, the Duquesne Club, the Pittsburgh Ballet and the Allegheny Regional Asset District. Dave began his career in politics in the early 1970's, serving on the Mt. Lebanon School Board and as Chair of the Mt. Lebanon Republican Committee. He was a delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1976, Ronald Reagan's first campaign. A self-described “Reaganite”, Dave was very active in the Reagan campaign in various roles and served as a delegate to the 1984 convention. In 1980, Dave was elected Chairman of the Allegheny County Republican Committee and subsequently, Vice Chairman of the Republican Committee of Pennsylvania. He graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Accounting. Dave and Jackie lived in Mt. Lebanon, Mt. Washington, Hilton Head, and Most recently Providence Point in Scott Township. Marjorie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother. A passion for learning and the arts led her to be a docent at the Carnegie Art Museum for many years and a docent at the Frick Art Museum for over 35 years. A graduate of Pennsylvania College for Women, now Chatham College, she was the one the first women hired as a financial analyst for the United States Steel Corporation. Marjorie also served as the Director of Alumnae Affairs for Chatham College during the 1970s. He was born August 17, 1942, in Noblestown, a son of the late William and Ruth Gibb Watters. Mr. Watters was a retired auto technician, working for over 43 years at Colussy Chevrolet and was a member of the Polish National Catholic Church in Carnegie. He enjoyed gardening, camping, boating hunting, and restoring antique cars. He was a workaholic. GIBA HELEN (YOLAN) MARIE Age 104, of Elmcroft in Allison Park, formerly of Dravosburg and Greenfield, passed away on November 1, 2017. Born on November 5, 1912, in Czechoslovakia, daughter of the late Andrew and Barbara Dzurik Yanosik. Beloved wife of the late Joseph R. Giba; loving mother of Barbara (Michael) Beachley and the late Richard (Patricia) Giba; dear grandmother of Kevin (Doris) Uher, Brian Uher, Jennifer (Michael) Appaneal, Lynne Gintz, Cathy Clemmo, Sandy Lindley, Richard A. Giba, and Joni Giba; also survived by 21 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Helen arrived in the United States from Czechoslovakia at the age of eight with her parents and lived on their farm in West Virginia. She continued her life in Pennsylvania with her husband, Joseph as a mom and homemaker. Helen thoroughly enjoyed gardening and feeding the birds daily, and had a love of animals, caring for many dogs and cats over the years. During Helen's time at Elmcroft, her infectious smile greeted everyone who entered her room and family helped to feed the birds just outside her window. Helen was blessed with a sharp mind, keeping her hundred plus years of memories for her family to enjoy. Husband of 60 years to Rita (Lawrence); father of Paul (Cathy), Vincent, and Timothy (Kristin); grandfather of Daniel, Michelle, Aubri, Averi, Matthew, Allison, and Tyler; great-grandfather of Kaylib and Amelia; brother of Ronald and Earl (Carol), of Chesapeake, VA. Herman was a Navy Veteran, worked for Sears for 40 years where he was a sales manager in the East Liberty and Allegheny Center stores. He was active for many years in the Boy Scouts of America and was very proud of his three sons and a grandson who achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Herm was a docent in the Car and Carriage Museum at the Frick Art and Historical Center for 13 years. He led tours for guests from around the country and world. He recently was a volunteer at the Health Care Center at Longwood at Oakmont, where he visited residents. Herm will be missed by his family and friends. WILSON PAUL E. Age 93, of Monroeville, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2017, at William Penn Care Center. Originally of Bedford, Paul is the son of the late Earl and Sara Wilson. Married for 69 years (on November 5, 1948) to Helen M. Wilson (Saunders), of Turtle Creek; loving father of Beverly (Salvatore) Molitierno, of Murrysville and Connie (Robert) Chovan, of Greenville, PA (formerly of Monroeville); cherished Pap-pap to Salvatore, Paul (Jamie), David (Taylor) Molitierno, Pamela (Ryan) McCarthy, and Amanda (James) Richardson; great Pap-pap to Sierra Grace and Liliana Marie Molitierno, James David, and Jocelyn Rose Richardson, and Ryan Jeffrey and Riley Rose McCarthy. Paul is survived by sisters, Alberta Rose, Patricia Mock, and Barbara Miller; and brother-in-law to Betty Wilson, Carl Saunders (Vera), Ken Tarter, and Sharon Full. Paul was preceded in death by sisters, Mildred Judy, Dorothy Tew, Carolyn Wilson; brother, Robert Wilson; brothers-in-law, Foster Judy, Stanley Tew, Jerry Miller, Richard Mock; and sister-in-law, Bertha Tarter; also precious great-grandaughter, Francesca Joy Molitierno. Paul was raised on a farm in Bedford, then moved to Monroeville in the early fifties, working various jobs, retiring as a mechanic and body man at Forbes Motor Parts in Monroeville. Paul enjoyed working in his garage, and camping at Donegal Campground with dear friends William and the late Dolly Purdy, of Monroeville. Friends will be received Tuesday, November 7, 2017, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC.
