DeROSE DOTTIE E. Age 71, of Valencia, formerly Hampton, was welcomed into the Lord's arms after a brave and graceful battle with cancer on October 11, 2018. Beloved wife for 53 years of William N. PASTIERIK ARTHUR "BUBBY" Age 75, of Springdale, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 11, 2018 in the Veteran's Administration Hospital, Aspinwall, surrounded by his family. Bubby grew up in Springdale and was the son of the late Paul and Helen Pongratz Pastierik; father of Tammy (David) DiCio of Peters Twp., Tina (Eric) Fluent of Plum, and Tracey Radovich of Springdale; loving grandfather to Chelsie (Ryan Donaldson), David, Jr, Nicholas, Dominic, Brandon and Logan; greatgrandpa to Aubrey Donaldson; dear brother of James and Pat Pastierik, Paul and Kathy Pastierik, his best friend and twin sister Helen Sobotka; as well as many nieces and nephews; besides Art's parents, he was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 30 years, Mary Grace Pastierik; and brother-in-law, David Sobotka. Bubby was a member of St. Alphonsus Church in Springdale and was a U.S. Navy Veteran; he served in the Navy from 1963-1967 as a communications specialist and spent a year in Iceland and three years in Spain. He was a member of the Krivan Club for many years and worked for Haskells for 35 years as a shipper, where he eventually retired. After retirement, he enjoyed going to the River's Casino to try his luck. Bubby always made time to watch his grandkids play softball, never missing a game, and liked to "wet his line" and go fishing with the kids as well. The family would like to thank the hospice faculty at the VA Hospital in Aspinwall for taking such good care of their loved one and to St. Mary's Courtyard (Terri and Rodney) for their great friendship they had with Artie. MATTHIAS JAMES R. "JIM" Age 83, of Duquesne, died Friday, October 12, 2018 in UPMC Presbyterian. Born in McKeesport, November 29, 1934, he was the son of the late George and Mary (Uhrine) Matthias. Mr. Matthias was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, West Mifflin, The Parish Men's Club, Knights of Columbus Council 4210, and the IBEW Local 29. He was a retired employee of the Duquesne Light Company and a humble servant of the Church, serving as a Eucharistic Minister for many years, and a U.S. Army Veteran. Beloved husband of the late Ann Ragan Matthias; he is survived by four sons, Robert (Diane), James (Sandy), Michael (Tracey), and William Matthias; a brother, George Matthias; and a sister, Geraldine Vennebush; seven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews; in addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, William. Family and friends will be received on Sunday, October 14, from 5-8 p.m. and Monday, October 15, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the WILLIAM S. EMSWILLER JAMES M. It is with great sadness in our hearts that we announce a good man, Jim Emswiller, 61, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away this past Thursday, October 11, 2018 while doing what he loved most: working on a movie set. Being a sound mixer in the film industry for over 30 years, Jim was also a dedicated Constable for the great city of Pittsburgh, an Emmy Award Winner, and an avid fisher and hunter, a collector of many things, and a soon-to-be published author. Besides his many trades, Jim was also a loving husband, an amazing "step"father, devoted son and brother, and a great friend to many. He will be greatly missed by all other communities and people he knew. Jim is survived by his wife, Beth Amber; his stepdaughter, Nikki Wallace, and her husband, David; his sister, Lauren Lega, and her husband, Mark; two nephews, Ryan and Austin; and his father, James; he was preceded in death by his mother, Lorraine Vincent. KURPIEWSKI MARGARET C. "MIDGE" On Friday, October 12, 2018. Wife of the late Charles Kurpiewski of 38 years; best friend of Henry "Pops" Witkowski and his children, Barbara Reed and Philip Witkowski; sister-in-law of the late Francis DiLucente, Ann Kurpiewski, the late Teddy Kurpecky, John Kurpiewski, Anthony Kurpiewski and the late Mary Papanik; loving friend of Cecilia Edder and Mary Lou Payne; also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was born and raised in North Braddock and then moved to Braddock, where she graduated high school in 1944. While in high school, she worked for the J.C. Penny Co. in Braddock. She worked for Mr. Michael L. Benedum, "The Oil Wildcatter," who owned several oil companies, and also for Plymouth Oil Co. for approximately 15 years. In 1961, she and her best friend, Mrs. Bert Jaros, opened their own business, Triangle Personnel Office, in the city of Pittsburgh, which they eventually sold after 15 years. They prided themselves in placing many unemployed people into positions of employment. Their whole life was spent finding jobs for the unemployed. Midge went to work for Allegheny County as a job developer in the Braddock office, with the goal to find employment for those in need. In 1989, she retired after 14 years of work. Midge was involved in the Republican Party of West Mifflin and Allegheny County for many years. She was elected Vice Chairman of West Mifflin and held that office for many years. In 1968, she was elected as a full delegate along with Mrs. Elise Hillman. Together, the two were the first women to ever serve this position in the State of Pennsylvania. Her life revolved around people and as she always said, "what would we do without friends?" Midge always worked with and for people. She always loved being involved with people either in employment "jobs," politics or class reunions. Friends welcome Tuesday, from 3 to 7 p.m. at PATRICK T. KELLER KEVIN L. Age 64, of North Versailles, passed away Friday, October 12, 2018. He was born November 9, 1953 in New Kensington, a son of the late Theodore and LaRue Keller. He was a long-time member of Linway United Presbyterian Church in North Versailles, where he enjoyed singing in the choir. He retired after 32 years as a letter carrier for the Post Office in Monroeville, Plum, and Penn Hills before spending the last five years as a Legislative Assistant to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. He loved watching hockey, especially with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of over 39 years, Susan E. (Krupa) Keller; children, Shaun (Sabrina) Keller and Shannon (boyfriend Tony Cautela) Jeffries; grandchildren, Brianne Jeffries and Luca and Landon Keller; brothers, Howard (Helen) Keller and Keith Keller; and sister, Karen (John) Crandall. EVELETH ROBERT K. "BOB" Age 56, of Richland Township, passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2018. Born February 26, 1962 in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was the son of Robert R. and the late Eunice (Fields) Eveleth. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Kimberly Ann Antonaccio. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Janet (Haas) Eveleth; father, Robert R. Eveleth; son, Christopher Eveleth and wife, Lisanne; son, Stephen Eveleth and fiancé, Courtney (VanSickle); granddaughters, Allison Jane, Hannah May and Hailey Ann; and his best fur-friend, Teddy. Friends and family are invited to attend a small service on Monday, October 15th at 2:00 p.m. that will take place in the mausoleum at the Allegheny County Memorial Park in Allison Park.
