COLTERYAHN ELMER E., Jr. Age 87, of Prospect, died Thursday, January 18, 2018. Born January 7, 1931, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Elmer and Alma Shaffer Colteryahn. Elmer was a dairyman having worked at Carl Colteryahn Dairy in Pittsburgh. He had been in the U.S. Army Reserve for 13 years and was a Sgt. Major. Elmer was a member of the Syria Shrine and the Masonic Lodge in Pittsburgh. He was a longtime member of the Board of Directors for the Butler Farm Show, he had been a member of the Western PA Pony Pulling Association and was the founder and chairman of the Butler Rodeo for 27 years. For many years Elmer provided the horse drawn caisson for Prospect's Memorial Community Day Parade. He loved his farm and his horses. Elmer was a member of the Mt. Nebo Presbyterian Church in Prospect. Survivors include one son, Scott Colteryahn of Prospect; and one daughter, Lynette (James) Goehring of Emlenton; one sister, Lois Fry of Rockdale, TX; four grandchildren and five great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn, whom he married February 7, 1953, she died October 5, 2003; and his brother, James Colteryahn. Visitation will be on Monday 1:00-4:00 and 6:00-9:00 p.m. from the JAY BRYAN FUNERAL HOME, 443 Main Street in Prospect. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. from the funeral home with the Rev. Steve Cort officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Burial Estates in Butler. COYNE PATRICK JOSEPH Age 90, of Point Breeze, originally of Leam, Maam Cross, Co. Galway, Ireland, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on January 18, 2018. Loving husband of the late Margaret (Burke) Coyne; devoted father of Mary (Michael) DiBello, the late Barbara Coyne, Patrick Coyne, Jr., Jean Coyne (Robert Laird), and the late Theresa Coyne Jones and John Coyne; wonderful grandfather to Erin McBride-Lovas (Mark Lovas), Michael (Phoebe), Jonathan, and Christina DiBello, Katharine Jones, and Margaret and Sarah Laird; proud great-grandfather of Jackson and George Lovas; son of the late William and Mary Coyne of Ireland; brother of Bridget McQuinn, Sarah O'Toole, Bartley Coyne, Barbara Molloy, the late Mamie Sullivan, the late John Coyne, and the late Liam Coyne, all of Ireland. Pat emigrated from Ireland in 1948, served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and was an entrepreneur who found his lifelong success in his investment in rental properties. SABO PHYLLIS J. (O'KEEFE) Age 83, of Murrysville, PA, passed away peacefully at home on January 18, 2018. Phyllis was born in Braddock, PA on February 2, 1934, to Lavern and Jennie O'Keefe, being the second of five children. On August 31, 1957, she married John R. Sabo and subsequently moved to Murrysville, PA. Phyllis was a longstanding and dedicated member of Mother of Sorrows Parish in Murrysville. Her passions included camping, bowling, crafts, and time spent with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her sister, Maureen DelleDonne. She is survived by her husband, John "Jack"; her brother and his wife, Daniel and Judy O'Keefe; her daughter and her husband, Joyce Ann and Jim Kirkpatrick; her son and his spouse, John L. Sabo and David Glinski; her daughter and her husband, Kathleen and Steve Dovidio; her grandchildren, Ian and Maureen Kirkpatrick, Sydney, Josh, and Noah Sabo, and Jack, Kyle, and Luke Dovidio; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. BOZZICK THOMAS Thomas Bozzick, age 91, of Level Green passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018, at the Autumn Ridge of Monroeville. Tom was born on February 5, 1926, in North Braddock, the son of the late Milos and Stanka (Mrkich) Bozick. Tom was a veteran of the US Navy during WWII, he retired from Westinghouse Bettis Atomic Power in W. Mifflin, a member of the St. Regis Church Trafford, a retired member of the Trafford Fire Co. No 1, Trafford American Legion Post #331 and an active member of the St. John Kanty Lodge #881 (Polish Club) Trafford. Tom was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Stephanie (Nowak) Bozzick; his children, Thomas Bozzick (Laura) of Princeton, NJ, Darla Johns (William) of Aiken, SC, and Willam Bozzick of Level Green; five grandchildren, Jonathan and Joshua Bozzick, Billy Johns and Stephanie Barmore (Ben) and Nicole Bozzick; his siblings, Rose Tucker of Florida and Larry Bozick of N. She was born August 10, 1934, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Louis and Anna Marie Sturchio. She retired after 20 years as a deli cook at the Foodland in Turtle Creek and enjoyed the time she spent at the Life Pittsburgh Senior Center in McKees Rocks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John Del Grosso; and second husband, Jack Pape; son, John Del Grosso; brother, Ralph Sturchio; and sister, Nancy Carnevale. WILLIS-YARUSSI BARBARA ANN Age 73, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 15, 2018, in Clayton, NC. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on March 20, 1944, to Harold Keith (Tony) and Dolores Marie Willis. Barbara was a graduate of Baldwin High School (1962), Duquesne University and the University of Pittsburgh. For over 20 years, she helped many people as a critical care nurse, first in California and most recently in Savannah, GA. Barbara also served in the League of Women Voters and was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society. Barbara was taken too soon and will be missed by her family and many friends. DEMASE LAWRENCE ALFRED Lawrence Alfred Demase, of Fox Chapel, Pennsylvania, died January 18, 2018 at Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania after a brief hospitalization. Larry was born June 2, 1945 to Elsie Jean (Trager) and Joseph Charles Demase in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and grew up in the North Hills of Pittsburgh.Larry graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1967 with a bachelor's of science in biochemistry and went on to graduate from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1971. Mr. Demase was a retired partner with the Reed Smith law firm, where much of his focus was on cases related to the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act and the Superfund program through which the federal government cleans up hazardous waste sites. In 2009 he traveled to Copenhagen to participate in the United Nations summit on climate change, where he worked  to draft a plan that was part of a U.N. resolution on climate change. Throughout his more than 40 years as an attorney, he represented a wide range of clients at all levels of the judicial system, including the U.S. Supreme Court.  But Larry was proudest of his family. He was married to Patricia (Jalowick) Demase for 50 years. The Demases have two children: Morgan Katherine, who lives in Reading, Massachusetts with her husband David Copeland and their daughter, Mia Rose Demase Copeland; and Michael Lawrence Demase, who is completing his studies in computer science at the Pennsylvania State University in Erie. In retirement, Larry enjoyed traveling, spending time on Cape Cod in Massachusetts and doting on Mia Rose. Larry is also survived by his brothers Joseph of Tuscon, Arizona; Stevan and his wife Marsha of Abington, Virginia; and his best friend Kenneth Frederick and his wife Virginia of Atherton, California. He is also survived by Joseph's son John and Stevan's children, Stevan Jr. and Rachel. Friends will be received at JOHN A. FREYVOGEL SONS INC.
