SAMBOLT PEARL (ROWE) AGE 77, A...
SAMBOLT PEARL (ROWE) Age 77, a servant of God and lifelong resident of Coraopolis, was born to Eternal Life on Transfiguration Sunday, August 6, 2017, from UPMC Shadyside, where she felt great peace surrounded by the prayers and musical voices of her family. She was born in Boomer, WV on September 20, 1939, to the late Ross and Katie (Oliver) Rowe. On November 24, 1960, she married her beloved husband, John F. Sambolt, of Coraopolis. They were blessed with a great family, including two cherished daughters, Karen Wojtechko (Pete whom she loved like a son), of Crescent and Kathy Sambolt, of Coraopolis; loved like a daughter, Lucia Romanello, of Coraopolis; adored grandsons, Peter, John, and Matthew, all of Crescent; and was a devoted sister to Rose LoBello and Marianne McCutcheon, both of Coraopolis, and the late Tony, Benny, and infant Baby Benny Rowe. Pearl was owner and operator of Pearl's Beauty Salon and was a licensed cosmetologist, but most of all she was a wonderful wife, mom, nani, and friend. She was a very active member of St. Jospeh Parish: she taught CCD to high schoolers and RCIA, served on Parish Council, was a participant in the St. Joseph Folk Group, co-lead the Charismatic Lamb of God Prayer Group, and was a prayer warrior. Pearl had started the Coraopolis chapter of TOPS (Take off Pounds Sensibly). During the Vietnam War, Pearl spearheaded a local movement to bring the Prisoners of War home. She raised awareness, organized stirring events, rose funding, sold countless POW bracelets, got petitions signed, and was in direct communication with Voices in Vital America. Pearl's campaign had results: citizens wrote letters to POW families and helped soldiers come back home. Pearl lived the vocation of evangelizing her faith, and served the mind, body, and spirit of everyone she met. She embodied her Christian ideals to friends and strangers alike, by praying with others, recognizing and fulfilling their needs, being a good listener, and being a caregiver to many. She would say You can call me day or night. Pearl found only good in others, and was unselfish, accepting, and loving to all people. The greatest love in Pearl's life was her husband, her greatest happiness was her daughters, and her greatest joy was her three grandsons. We know where Pearl is now, but are overwhelmed by this terrible sense of loss. Our tears overflow. While we will always miss you, we will also cradle you in our hearts along with our beautiful memories. Please keep us in your prayers. Visitation Wednesday and Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at COPELAND'S CORAOPOLIS, 867 Fifth Ave., where prayers will be recited on Friday at 9:30 a.m. followed by Mass at St. Joseph Church at 10 a.m. Father Richard Jones, celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Send condolences post-gazette.com/gb
