SWICK LAWRENCE F., JR. Larry, age 69, of Etna, formerly of Lawrenceville, died peacefully March 30, 2017, while vacationing in Lisbon, Portugal. Loving husband of Jeanine Simon Swick, happily married for 34 years; beloved father of Mary (Dylan) DiRenna, and Margaret (Carl) Haselhoff. Larry was born March 27, 1948, the son of the late Lawrence, Sr., and Thelma Swick (née Haney). Larry is survived by his brothers and sisters, Robert, Patricia, Ruth Ann, Nancy (Greg), Cheryl (Paul), and William (Tamara). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Larry lived a life on his own terms, a man you not only knew but experienced. He was wicked smart, with a strong anti-authority disposition. A character who engaged in delightful conversations with strangers. Larry served his country in Vietnam and retired as a Postal employee. Always a true Tenth Warder with concrete in his blood, he encouraged all adventures. Larry had a strong love for all good food and music. He was well read but not above sending daily comics to his family. A storyteller whose laugh echoed between different times and places. Larry was always a snappy dresser, who loved all things different and enjoyed planning themed parties for every occasion. BURT JAMES CLARK, Jr. Age 56, died Friday, April 14, 2017, surrounded by friends and family, following a catastrophic head injury two days earlier. Jim was born Aug. 19, 1960, the son of the late James and Mary Burt. He was a graduate of Churchill High School and Bethany College, class of 1983. At Bethany, Jim met his wife, Suzanne. They were 18. It took nine years of dating, a lot of procrastination and bribery from both sides of the family for him to pop the question. They married January 15, 1989, in the middle of a snow storm and remained together for the next 28 years. Jim frequented D's SixPax & Dogz, Vincent's Pizza, and Murphy's Tap Room. He loved his family, friends, his house, cutting grass, his cats, the Penguins, Pirates, Steelers, witty Facebook one-liners, traveling and usually Suzanne, his beloved. He leaves behind Suzanne, who misses him already; his brother, Charlie and his wife, Edie, their children, Chaz and his wife, Gina; Kaitlyn and her husband, Mitchell, and his niece, Michale. He is also survived by his sister, Dorothy Bosic and her husband, John, their children, Kara and Jack; as well as his brother, Bob and his children, Enzo and Frankie. He is also survived by his in-laws, Jack and Becky Elliott of Sebastian, Florida; and brother-in-law, Cliff Elliott of Raleigh, NC. He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Daniel. Thank you to the ICU team at Mercy Hospital, especially Susan, for the compassionate care. A Celebration of Life will be held at D's SixPax & Dogz, 1118 South Braddock Ave., Regent Square from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. Monday, April 17, 2017. Born in Pittsburgh, PA on May 24, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Helena Giles Hack. A homemaker, Blanche was a member of the South Butler Assembly of God. She also operated the Butler Midway Food Co-op from 1977 to 1982. Surviving are her husband, Kenneth J. Reilly, who she married on March 29, 1979; two daughters, Cheryl Brady (Rodrick) of Mars and Lisa Lees of Valencia; two sons, Thomas Brugere, IV (Sandra) of Renfrew and Keith Brugere of Valencia; two sisters, Helena Schmit of McCandless and Beverly Marion of Zelienople; a brother, Michael Hack of Butler; 20 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. OLUP JEROME “JERRY” STANLEY Age 76, of Pleasant Hills, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus, surrounded by family on Saturday, April 15, 2017. Jerry was the loving husband of 52 years to Audrey Lorraine (Peterson) Olup; adored father of Jerome James Olup (Kathleen) and Jennifer Olup O'Brien (Patrick); beloved granddaughters, Sophia and Gianna. Jerry is survived by his brother, Sylvester "Sonny" Olup (Ruth Ann); his sister-in-law, Dolores (Peterson) Trunk; and his loyal dog, Roxie. He graduated Saint Michael's High School in 1958, attended Robert Morris, and served in the Navy from 1961 to 1965, from which he was honorably discharged as a Disabled Veteran. His career spanned Thom McAn, Prudential and First Student. He loved travel and often adventured with Audrey to visit his children and vacation with friends and family; he enjoyed a fulfilling and happy life. He will be remembered as a man who lovingly gave of himself to his family and friends. He loved to laugh and had a marvelous sense of humor.
