GARY P. PULLEN On Sunday, June 28, 2020, Gary P. Pullen, age 56, of McCandless Twp, died after an awful battle with Cancer. Much-loved husband of Michelle (Prescott) Pullen; proudest father of Cory and Tyler Pullen; son of Mildred (Schmitt) and the late John E. Pullen; brother of John E. Pullen, Jr., Theresa (David) Natale, Denise Pullen, and Michele Burch; also survived by in-laws, countless nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, dearest friends, both old and new, and beloved pets, Lucky, Jazz, and Apollo. Friends received for a Celebration of Life 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, July 3, 2020, at SIMONS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 7720 Perry Hwy., Pgh, PA 15237. Gary has made his last inappropriate comment and/or joke. If you are wondering if you may have ever met him, you didn't - because you WOULD remember. For those of you that did meet him, we apologize, as we're sure he probably offended you at some point. Gary was best known for being in constant motion, for always wanting to make people laugh no matter the situation, and for being the one to drop everything to help anyone who asked. Especially if it involved something to do with your car, or in the case of his best friend Norm, anything needing done in any of the apartments. In addition to a collection of cars and garages full of stuff, Gary leaves behind two great boys who he was extremely proud of. The years of baseball practices and games, from hitting those tennis balls high into the outfield where they amazingly tracked them down, to travelling everywhere watching his boys play the game they loved were some of the proudest and happiest moments of his life. Gary led a unique life leading to a peaceful death - but the transitions in between were a bitch. He won many battles along the way, so for the record, he did not lose his battle with cancer. When he died, the cancer died, so technically that one was a tie! Gary's wishes are to not spend a lot of money on flowers (He loved them in the gardens or in the fields but have always thought they were a waste of money, because they would just die). Instead, to honor his life, please contribute to your local Roller Skating Rink, or youth Baseball League. Those would bring him joy. Send condolences post-gazette.com/gb
