MARY JANE DELISI Age 97, formerly of Monroeville, passed away June 27, 2020. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Delisi and loving mother of James Delisi, the late Judith Mihealsick, Deborah (Robert) Marks, Kathryn (Douglas) Lee and Joseph Delisi. Blessed with the love of a large family, Mary Jane was the sister of George Noel, Ann Barber, Peggy Alfano and sister-in-law of Rose Williams, Thelma, Philomena, Shirley and Leona Noel and the late Josie Stefannon. Preceded in death by her brothers, Edgar, Francis and Kenneth Noel, as well as brothers-in-law Richard Barber, Ray Alfano, Ray Williams and Jake Stefannon. Mary Jane was dedicated to her six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, who affectionately called her GiGi. She was involved with her church and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Her wit and humor will be missed. Friends will be received at the WM.O.PEARCE FUNERAL HOME INC., 318 Wall Avenue, Pitcairn, on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, from 10-12 noon, followed by a blessing service at noon and interment at Good Shepherd Cemetery. MARTIN ARTHUR POCHAPIN "MARTY" Martin Arthur Pochapin died on Thursday, June 25, 2020, at the age of 94. Affectionately known by many as ‘Marty,' he was born and raised in the Squirrel Hill neighborhood of Pittsburgh, but traveled near and far. He was friendly, talkative, and known by name everywhere he went. He was a WWII Veteran who served under General George S. Patton, an Advertising Salesman, a Patron of the Arts, an avid Baseball Fan, and a Connoisseur of Dining who never went a day in his life without eating something sweet. He lived a long and healthy life and was most proud of his family; wife Marsha Pochapin (deceased), Father and Mother, Dr. Irwin M. and Bessie Finkelpearl Pochapin (deceased); brother, Dr. Sherman W. Pochapin (deceased); his surviving children, Pamela and Emil M. Quatchak (daughter and son-in-law), Robi Pochapin, Carol Darwish, and Miriam Pochapin (son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter), Kevin and Deanna DiGioia Pochapin, and Pablo and Antonia Linzoain (son, daughter-in-law, and step grandchildren), Allison Pochapin (daughter), and his cousins, nieces and nephews. The family extends a special thank you to the administrators, doctors, nurses, and entire staff of Canterbury Place and Family Hospice for loving him and caring for him so well in his final years and days. Services will be held under current CDC guidelines at D'ALESSANDRO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, LTD., 4522 Butler Street in Lawrenceville, on Sunday, June 28. ROBERT J. "BOB" WIESENBACH Age 88, of West View, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2020. Beloved husband of 63 years to Carole E. (Dierker) Wiesenbach. Born February 16, 1932, in Millvale, PA, the son of the late Joseph L. and Ethel (Stiger) Wiesenbach. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph L. and William T. Wiesenbach. Dear father of Kevin R. (Joanne) Wiesenbach, Cheryll A. (E. Timothy) Geisler, and Ronald J. (Kimberly) Wiesenbach. Proud grandfather of Rachel (Keith), Sarah (Jim), Timothy (Brittany) Geisler, and Marissa. Graduate of North Catholic High School, class of 1950. Bob served in the Army from 1952 to 1954 as military police during the Korean War. After discharge, he was employed by Truscon Steel Co. (Youngstown, OH) and followed by Harbison Walker Co. (Pittsburgh, PA) as an estimating engineer. Later, he worked for Laidlaw International, Inc., as a school bus driver before retiring in 2012. He was a long time parishioner at St. Athanasius and a member of the V.F.W. Post #2754 in West View. Bob was also an avid sports fan, never missing a Steeler game. RAYMOND C. BRADFORD "RAY" Raymond Charles Bradford, born February 4, 1938, of McKees Rocks, went to be with the Lord on June 26, 2020. He is the son of the late Marge (Kramer) Bradford and Charles Harvey Bradford. Ray is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Julie (Holl) Bradford. Preceding Ray were his two daughters, Debra (Bradford) Hoover and Bonnie (Bradford) Chonko. Surviving are his sister, Arlene (Bill deceased) Rudison, Charles Harvey Bradford, II (Debbie); daughters, Theresa Werkheiser, Cindy (Don “Moe”) Morrow; sons, Kurt (Jess) Holl, Bruce Burger and Brandon Burger (Cherie); many grandchildren including his little ray of sunshine, Kylie and three great-grandchildren, Paul, Jr, Eli and Dean. Another person near and dear to his heart was his caregiver Paul Chandler for three years and we are all so grateful for him. The family would also like to thank Gallagher Hospice for their kindness. After graduating from Stowe High School Ray proudly served in the Air Force Reserves and went on to be a professional truck driver, owning his own company for years and later in life decided to drive truck for other companies and took pride in always having a clean truck. Ray loved his dogs, music, dancing and Rolling Rock. He was one of the good guys and will truly be missed! As per Ray's wishes there will be no viewing. BERNARD "BERNIE" MILLER Peacefully on Sunday, June 28, 2020. Beloved husband of 60 years to Ravenna (Palkovitz) Miller. Son of the late David and Katie Miller. Brother of Ethel (Sol) Jarmell. Loving father of Aimee (Marty Gass) Miller and Jeff Miller. Proud grandpa of Jordan Harper and Julian Alexander Gass, who brought him much joy in his later years. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews. Mr. Miller graduated from Peabody High School then Tufts University as a Mechanical Engineer. He served two tours of duty as a lieutenant in the Navy during WWII and the Korean War. He earned his master's degree at Carnegie Mellon University while working for Westinghouse Electric Corporation where he designed and patented the portable x-ray machine used in hospitals. He served as a liaison to the CMU Robotics Program. In addition, he had many interests including antique cars and music ranging from classical to the Beatles. He was also a collector of many things and an avid reader. Even after losing his sight, he continued to enjoy books on tape. Bernie will be most remembered for his devotion to family, his generosity, his gentle disposition, kind heart, dry humor and corny “dad” jokes. MICHAEL "MUSTAFA" ALEXANDER SCOTT Michael “Mustafa” Alexander Scott, born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to parents, Martha Scott (Pastucha) and Alexander Scott, died of natural causes in his home on Saturday, June 27, 2020, at age 71. He was a Vietnam Veteran and postal worker at the Pittsburgh NDC for over 40 years. Mustafa was a longtime member of the First Muslim Mosque of Pittsburgh. He is survived by his wife, step-children, and step-grandchild. He was also a father and grandfather to so many, including but not limited to Safiyyah Scott, Yusuf Ali, Abdul-Wahhaab, Abdul-Lateef, Abdul-Fattaah, Abdullah, Abdul-Azeez, and Abdur-Rahmaan. JOAN C. DUMM Age 89, of Washington, formerly of Monroeville and Ft. Lauderdale, FL for 25 years, died Saturday, June 27, 2020, in the Bridgeville Rehabilitation and Care Center. She was born June 25, 1931, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Peter F. and Mary McNary Casey. On July 2, 1955, in Pittsburgh, she married Joseph C. Dumm. Mr. Dumm died June 8, 2014. Surviving are two sons, John (Kelly) Dunn and Regis (Kristy) Dumm; three daughters, Kathy Price, Carolyn (Dan) Falleroni and JoAnn (Karen) Casey Russell; a sister, Margie Kerlin; thirteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter of Hazelwood. She leaves behind her son, Michael (Kathy); son-in-law, Ron Zollner; and her grandchildren, Christopher (Kate) of Pittsburgh, Rachel of Chicago, David Zollner (Kristen) of Penn Township, and Elizabeth (Dave) Cook of Grandville, Ohio; great-grandsons, Blaise and Brooks Zollner, Parker and Jack Cook; and great-granddaughter, Elodie Fedishen. ROSINIA "ROSS" CALIGIURI DUGAN Born January 13, 1927, to Pietro and Candida Caligiuri in Pittsburgh, PA, died June 27, 2020. Survived by her four children, William Francis (Sandy) of Finleyville, Timothy Peter of Connellsville, Brian Caligiuri (Christine) of Bethel Park, Meghan Candida of Roseburg, Oregon; and grandchildren, Isabella Rosina and Mason James William of Roseburg, Oregon; sister, Mary Kriston of Finleyville; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Preceded in death by her husband, William A. Dugan; her parents; brothers, Joseph and Frank; and sister, Joanne. The daughter of Italian immigrants who settled in Carnegie, Ross graduated from Carnegie High School in 1945. Ross worked in retail and met her future husband Bill at Horne's Department Store. When Bill asked her to marry him, he gave her a paper clip bent into a ring, and a beautiful gold bracelet she cherished. They married in May 1956 and moved to South Park, where she remained independently living in their home until her passing. An impeccable hostess, she loved being surrounded by friends and family enjoying her home cooked meals, baked goods, and hospitality. No one left her home empty-handed. She was known for her fashion sense, cookies and pies, ladies' luncheons, gift-giving, maintaining lifelong friendships, and family history knowledge. Ross was proud of her children, liked sending care packages to her grandchildren, loved their yearly visits and played badminton with them until she was 90. She was active all her life, enjoyed walking, reading, and sitting in her backyard. She loved flowers, especially daisies, and the color yellow. LILLIAN KETCHAM Age 89, of Vineland, New Jersey passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2020, peacefully in her home. Lillian was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Alleghany High School in 1948. After graduation Lillian moved to Washington, DC and worked as a secretary at the Pentagon, where she met her husband, John. In 1958, Lillian moved to Vineland, New Jersey and was employed for 26 years as a secretary with Prudential Life Insurance. Lillian enjoyed bowling, photography, and traveling. She took trips to places here in the United States as well as other countries. Lillian also took the trip of a lifetime to China. Lillian enjoyed games of any kind, especially when she was with her family. She was always interested in new technology; her gadgets, as she called them, gave her as much enjoyment as frustration. Lillian will be remembered as a loving aunt, a kind friend, and to all who knew her an extremely independent woman. She will be missed by all who knew her, especially sister-in-law, Isabelle Ketcham; and sister-in-law, Alice Schoener; niece, Sylvia and husband Jay Deiner; niece, Susan and husband Michael Mettetal; nephew, Dan Ketcham; nephew, James Ketcham, Jr. and wife Jennifer; and also several great-nephews and great-nieces. Family and friends are welcome Thursday from 9-9:45 a.m. at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Hwy., North Hills. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Teresa of Avila Church. Interment to follow at North Side Catholic Cemetery. GRACE ANN (KELLY) SCANLON Passed on Tuesday, June 23, 2020, at 90 years of age. She was a resident at the Sheridan at Bethel Park over the past ten months. Grace was born in 1930 to Joseph Marion and Grace (Walsh) Kelly of Mt. Lebanon. She was the youngest of three children. She often told the story of being born at home on Dan Drive. Her mother was told there was insufficient time to travel to the nearest hospital (at the time in downtown Pittsburgh). Grace graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School in 1947. Grace attended Edinboro State Teachers College and The Pennsylvania State College. She returned home to attend and graduate from the Abbington Hall Secretarial School in Mt. Lebanon. In the early 1950's, she worked for Standard Service Inc., a general construction company located on Banksville Road in Pittsburgh, as the company bookkeeper and payroll clerk. In 1954, Grace married James D. Scanlon, Jr., also of Mt. Lebanon. They were wed in the lower level chapel of St. Bernard's in Mt. Lebanon before the upper church construction was completed. Grace continued working until she gave birth to their first child and then transitioned to a traditional homemaker. Grace raised and is survived by three children: James D. “Stan” Scanlon, III (wife Nilce Camargo Scanlon) of State College, PA; Kevin Kelly Scanlon of Pittsburgh, PA; and Dr. Molly M. Scanlon (husband, James Gordon) of Coronado, CA. Grace and her husband traveled extensively around the world as part of his international business career with US Steel. Throughout her life she enjoyed playing bridge with her friends, collecting antiques, dining out, and gardening. Grace was a lifelong resident of Mt. Lebanon. Grace was preceded in death by her husband James in July 2013, both of her parents, and her two brothers, Joseph and John (Jack) Kelly. Grace was laid to rest at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery beside her husband, near both parents, and brother Jack. A memorial service will be scheduled at a future date and time when immediate family and friends can be present. WAYNE L. STONE Age 76, of Mercer, formerly of Bridgeville, peacefully passed away at home on Sunday, June 28, 2020. Beloved husband of 53 years to Mary (Bronson) Stone; son of the late Warren and Jane Stone; brother of Ron (Barb) Stone; brother-in-law of Carl Smith; also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Wayne was an Army Veteran; he retired from the Bethel Park School District where he worked as a mechanic in the Bus Garage. A cemetery service will be held Thursday, July 9, 2020, at 12:30 p.m. in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies (everyone please meet at cemetery).
