EDWARD PAUL RUSTEIKAS Age 88, of Allison Park and formerly of Lincoln Borough, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2019. He was born August 15, 1931 in Duquesne and was the son of the late Walter and Theresa (Jackson) Rusteikas. He was the husband of the late Charlotte Mae (Pryor) Rusteikas who passed away March 18, 2012. Edward was a member of Dormition of the Holy Virgin Mary Russian Orthodox Church, McKeesport, and was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. He retired as a warehouseman in 1993 from Ames Department Stores, Inc. (formerly, G. C. Murphy Co.), Christy Park (McKeesport, PA). He is survived by his sons, Edward Paul (Mary) Rusteikas, Jr., of Allison Park, and Daniel Charles Rusteikas of McKeesport; grandson, Joshua Keddie of Lincoln Borough; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Elaine Marie Keddie; brothers, Theodore Ruskin and Leo Rusteikas; and sister, Margaret (Thomas) McNamara. There is no visitation. Private funeral service with Military Honors will be held in the chapel of Round Hill Cemetery with The Rev. Dimitri Ermakov, officiating. MICHAEL JOSEPH PECKMAN Age 34, only child of Frank J. Peckman, III and Sharon L. (Rush) Peckman, quietly passed away in his home Sunday, November 10, 2019. Michael was born and raised in Monroeville, PA and graduated from Gateway HS. He went on to pursue many adventures, the most recent being an adventure in love. In August of 2018, he found his soul mate, Henriette Froyen, and her three children, Julie (12), Martin (9), and Thomas (6 ),who were soon to be his adopted children. They were engaged to be married late summer and reside in Norway. Michael had a passion for tennis shoes and beanie caps! He loved Pepsi, dogs, music, the Pittsburgh Penguins and Steelers, and gaming! He was known for his charm, infectious smile, quick wit and his tender heart, but most of all how he loved his family! Michael was preceded in death by his beloved Gramma and Poppy, Catherine and Donald Rush whom he adored, and he was their sun and moon! Also preceded by his paternal grandparents, Frank and Lucy Peckman. Michael is survived by his loving parents, Sharon and Frank Peckman, III; his finaceé, Henriette Froyen; his three kids, Julie, Martin and Thomas; and his treasured Boston Terrier, Penny. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. He will be forever missed and forever in our hearts! Beloved husband of 70 years to the late Anna Doris Farr Montgomery. Survived by his most special and devoted friend, Johanna Ostrawski. Devoted grandfather of Allison Kent Rippole with Damian, Jason Kent with Saundra, Timothy Montgomery with Sarah, Nathan Montgomery with Meredith, Jeffrey Kent with Briana, Mitchell Kent, Ben Montgomery with Courtney, Abby Montgomery Schade with Aaron, Edward A. Following his military service, he worked as a pattern maker for Westinghouse Airbrake for more than 40 years. After retirement, he worked for Nelson Memorial in East McKeesport. Al was a faithful and long-time member of the Electric Heights Methodist Church. He was a member of the VFW, Masons, American Legion, Optimist Club, and the Senior Harmonicats. DOROTHY "DOTTIE" O'DONNELL Passed away on November 13, 2019, in Plano, Texas and was 89 years of age. She was born on August 31, 1930, in Philadelphia, PA, to the late John and Mary Liss. After marriage in 1953, she resided in Penn Hills for 60-plus years with her beloved John “Jack” O'Donnell where they raised six children. She was preceded in death by Jack, her husband of 63 years; daughter, Maureen Maiorino; and daughter, Susan O'Donnell. She leaves behind her sons, John O'Donnell (Janice), Dennis O'Donnell; and daughters, Kathleen Streeter (Frank), Dorothy Kingerski (James); and son-in-law, Dennis Maiorino. She was blessed with ten grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Dottie loved spending time with her family and vacationing at the beach in Wildwood, NJ. Murray, Sr.; mother of Kathleen Yochum (Mark), Geraldine Murray (Kurt Tomaszewski) and James P. Murray, Jr. (Lisa Veyka); preceded in death by her infant daughter Rosemarie; mother-in-law of Marisa Murray; grandmother of Molly Yochum, C.J. Tomaszewski, and Isabel, Angelina and Sean Murray; sister of Kathleen Michalski; also survived by nieces and nephews. Margaret was born in Doughcrabbin, Donegal County, Ireland on April 15, 1926. She entered the US on December 31, 1948, was married on September 12, 1953 and became a US citizen on November 11, 1954. She joined the Pioneer Total Abstinence Association of the Sacred Heart of Jesus when she was 16 years old, taking an oath never to touch alcohol. An oath she honored her entire life. RHODA JANE (GEHRINGER) BALDT Age 77, of North Versailles, formerly of Monroeville, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2019. Beloved wife of the late Roy A. Baldt; loving mother of Vonita Rae Baldt-Renk and her husband, Robert T. Renk; grandmother of Courtney Lee Kalina and Justin Lee Kalina. She was preceded in death by her father, Cyril “Jim” Gehringer; her mother, Helen Vonita Lee; stepfather, Robert E. Lee; and brother, James Gehringer and his wife, Maureen; as well as her rescue poodle, Girlsie. In addition, Rhoda leaves behind sisters-in-law, Lorraine Vallozzi and Christine Baldt-Holby (Merle); and brothers-in-law, Russell Baldt (Doreen), Michael Baldt, Dale Atkinson (Linda); as well as many nieces and nephews. Born and raised in Western Pennsylvania, following high school, Rhoda (known to many as Dodie) married her lifelong love, Roy, who was drafted by the Army but enlisted in the Navy. Over the years, they shared many good times with family and close friends. They were avid motorcyclists and eventually, Rhoda began riding her own bike and enjoyed many eventful trips. Rhoda was also a Pittsburgh Steelers' fan and for many years they had season tickets at Three Rivers Stadium. Rhoda also loved taking pictures; lucky for us, because she memorialized her life and ours. While most of her life she worked at various establishments in the area as a waitress or bartender, she also had a cosmetology degree which saved quite a few family members and friends a good bit of money over the years!She spent the last part of career as the manager of the American Legion's Gold Star Post #820. Rhoda touched many lives over the years.She was a loyal friend and a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was, as many have said, a spitfire and will be truly missed. Hers was a life well-lived. GREGORY A. YOST Gregory A. Yost, 62, of Cheswick, passed away on Friday, November 15, 2019. He was born on May 18, 1957 to his father, Kenton Yost and his mother, the late Nancy Mailey Yost. Greg lived here in the Valley for the past 22 years. He formerly had resided in O'Hara, Monroeville, and Jeannette before moving to Indiana Township. He was co-founder partner in his business Lazor-Yost Creative Marketing in Oakmont. Greg won an Addy Award for advertising of which he was proud but rarely spoke. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, gardening, golfing and especially spending time with his family and pets. Surviving him are his loving wife of 25 years, Rita Ann (Heiry) Yost; sons, Ryan Heastings of Dublin, OH, Ross Heastings of Edgewood Matthew Yost of Greensburg; grandson, Rye Steward-Heastings of Dublin, OH; beloved brother Gary (Jennifer) Yost of Bethel Park; many adored nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday 11:30 a.m. in St. Kilian Church, Cranberry Twp. Interment with military honors will follow in National Cemetery of Alleghenies, Bridgeville. Peter proudly served in the Army National Guard and Air Force National Guard for over 33 years, most recently with the 911th Airlift Wing in Moon Township. He served two tours in Afghanistan. A graduate of Geneva College, Peter was a longtime Civil Engineer and a devoted member of St. Kilian Church. He was a tremendously hard worker, an avid runner, enjoyed outdoor work and gardening, and especially loved fireworks. FLORENCE S. (CYGNAROWICZ) VIOLA Passed away peacefully, on Thursday, November 14, 2019, at the age of 90. Married 64 years, Florence was the beloved wife of Michael A. Viola; cherished mother of Frances (Wayne) McIntire, Catherine (Bill) Lafferty, Michele Viola and Michael (Barb) Viola; grandmother of Matthew (Christine) Tarallo, John (Candy) Tarallo, Adrienne (Jon) Earle, Christine (Alex) Rosenblatt, Michael Viola and Victoria Viola; great-grandmother of Zachary Rosenblatt, Roman Tarallo and Soon to be born Jillian Vera Earle; sister of Julia (the late Anthony) Radziminski; sister-in-law of Mathew Kapela, Walter Kubit, Walter Miller, Frank Viola and Rosalyn Viola. Florence was preceded in death by her parents, John and Sophie Cygnarowicz; and her late brothers and sisters, Mathew, Walter, Joseph (Frances), Stanley (Mary), John (Josephine), Henry (Dorothy) and Edward (Bernadette), Bernice (Benjamin), Stella, Helen, Adele and Irene.
