Sister of Jean Maley (the late Chet Maley) and Virginia Hofmeister (the late Conrad Hofmeister) and the late Jerome Kenna, Regis Kenna, Walter Kenna, Roberta White, Fr. Richard Kenna, Edward Kenna, Gerard Kenna and Margaret Balest. Also survived by over 50 nieces and nephews. Close friend of William "Bill" Lauer. A resident of Oakland, Dr. Kenna was a graduate of Marquette Medical School and practiced Pediatrics and Psychiatry in numerous Pittsburgh hospitals. She was also a faculty member of the University of Pittsburgh. Friends will be received at JOHN A. WILLIAM D. BALDWIN It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Bill Baldwin, 60 years young, on November 7, 2019, after a long battle with glioblastoma. He passed peacefully at home after much loving care by his girlfriend, Carol and best friend, Nick. He is survived by his beloved sister, Gale Graney (Joe); his beloved niece, Lauren Graney; many cousins; aunt, Doris Villella; and dear musician friends. Preceded in death by William C. Baldwin and Rose Cuda Baldwin. Bill was a humble, gentle soul loved by many. He lived many years in Florida but was happy to return back home to Pittsburgh. A phenomenal guitarist, he entertained us for years. Bands such as Eighteen Names, Not Responsible, X-15, Lushtones, etc. are just a few. Playing guitar was his peace. Remember... "Have a good time all the time." Bill will not have a funeral but a celebration of life will follow in April 2020. REVEREND JOHN R. HANEY Age 84, on November 12, 2019, of Whitehall. Beloved son of the late John R. and Catherine (Larkin) Haney; cherished brother of Donna (Anthony) DeBerardino, Jane (Angelo) Collura, Kathleen (Joseph) Ray, Michael (Carole) Haney and the late Patricia (John) Doyle; also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Born April 6, 1935, his family resided in Hazelwood and he attended St. Stephen Elementary School. Father Haney later entered the former St. Fidelis Seminary in Butler County, under the guidance of the Capuchin Fathers. After graduation he enrolled at St. Vincent College in Latrobe, where he was taught by the Benedictine Fathers. From St. Vincent, he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1957 and a Master of Divinity degree in 1961. On May 20, 1961, he was ordained by Bishop John J. Wright at St. Paul Cathedral in Pittsburgh. Father Haney was Parochial Vicar at St. Mary Magdalene, Homestead (1961-62), St. John the Baptist, Monaca (1962-67), St. Valentine, Bethel Park (1967-73), and St. Paul, Butler (1973-75). In 1975, he was named Pastor of St. Peter Parish on the South Side where he served until 1983. He was then named Pastor of St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin Church until his retirement in June 2016. For four months in 2009, Father Haney also served as Administrator of Sts. Simon and Jude Parish. He was Dean of the South Hills Deanery from 2004 to 2009, and he served periods of time on the Priests' Benefit Plan Board and the College of Consultors. He was also a member of the Clergy Personnel Board and the Priest Council. In 2011, Father Haney was one of eight pastors nationwide to be awarded the Distinguished Pastor Award by the National Catholic Educational Association. He was never in a parish without a school and thought that having children around was a great blessing. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Friends will be received at the JOHN F. CECELIA H. (MASTRANTONIO) FLETCHER Cecelia H. (Mastrantonio) Fletcher, 86, of Hopewell, passed peacefully on Friday, November 8, 2019. Born in Stowe Township on June 8, 1933, she was one of five children to the late Nicholas and Anna (DiNardo) Matrantonio. In addition to her parents, Cecelia was preceded in death by three sons, Martin, Jack and Larry Fletcher; two sisters, Elda Leschak and Rose Crivelli; one brother, Fio Martin; and grandson, John Fletcher. Cecelia was the beloved mother of Richard and Todd Fletcher both of Aliquippa; sister of Dolly Cocola of Sharonville, OH; three devoted granddaughters, Nicole Fletcher, Cori (Jason) Campagna and Lauren (Anthony) Marmo; four great-grandchildren, Zachary Fletcher, Maria Mooney, Carmen and Grace Campagna. Cecelia was a member of St. Margaret Mary Church, the Ukrainian Club and baked the best Christmas Cookies! She was preceded in death by her love and companion of over 25 years, Jimmy Migliore. Formerly married to the late Ronnie Peckich. PHYLLIS C. SPINAZZOLA 5/4/1931-11/8/2019 Phyllis C. Spinazzola, 88, Altoona, passed away at the Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg after a brief illness. She was born in Clearfield, daughter of the late John and Ruth (Krebs) Collins. On Nov. 24, 1956, she married Robert M. Spinazzola. Surviving are her husband, Robert M. Spinazzola; two sons, R. Stephen (Patricia) Spinazzola of Phoenix, MD and Robert M. Spinazzola (Jim Testerman) of Rehoboth Beach, DE; and one grandson, Brian Spinazzola. She was preceded in death by sisters, Donna Collins and Alma Delozier. Phyllis was a graduate of Altoona High School. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Pennsylvania Railroad before taking time to raise her two sons. As her sons got older, she worked as a teller for Mellon Bank and Central County's Bank and provided support to her husband Bob's successful Dale Carnegie franchise. She was baptized at and was a member of the Altoona St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church. At the age of 10, her pastor recognized her extraordinary vocal talent and encouraged her parents to enroll her in professional vocal training. During her time at St. James, she was the lead soprano in the church choir. From 1965 until 1982 she was a member of the Upper Saint Claire Faith Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir as the lead soprano. Her love of music extended to playing the piano which she taught herself to play at a young age. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 15, 2019, at THE STEVENS MORTUARY, INC., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona. A funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019, at St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, Pastors Scott Custead and Pastor Ralph Hamer officiating. JOHN MICHAEL MULLARKEY January 15, 1929 - November 13, 2019. Age 90, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family and friends. Originally of County Mayo, Ireland and a resident of Wilkinsburg for the past 63 years. He is survived by his best friend and wife of 63 years, Ellie Gibbons Mullarkey, also of County Mayo. Beloved father of Catherine, Roger, John (Linda), Maureen Slaby (Gary) and Anne Mullarkey-Sawa (James). Adored by grandchildren, John Michael (Jonna), John Joseph, Ryan (Juliet), Robert, Sean Peter, Sarah (Chris), Megan (Tyler), Lauren (Marcel), Abigail and great-granddaughter, Emma. Also survived by adopted family of Sue and Joe Mahute, Mary Locker and Tim Lewis, as well as many others, all considered a part of the Mullarkey clan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Mary Mullarkey; siblings, Martin, Bridget, Vincent, Anthony, Mary, and Theresa. He is survived by brother, Patrick; and many nieces and nephews who enjoyed visiting Pittsburgh from Ireland and Scotland. John and Ellie, married in Ireland and immigrated to Pittsburgh, PA USA in 1956. John worked at the Homewood Cemetery for almost 50 years, exemplifying an incredible work ethic. He was strong in his Catholic faith and his love of the old country, he loved to tell a good story, some of them true, and spend time with his grandchildren and great-granddaughter.
