MARYALICE BENEVIAT Entered her heavenly home in her parents arms on June, 28, 2019. She was born on May 23, 2019, and provided much joy in the five weeks that she lived with her family. MaryAlice was very alert for a newborn and loved being cuddled, taking baths, and sleeping next to her mother, Natalie and father, Shannon. She is survived by her sisters, Penelope, Georgia, Loretta and brother, Emmett. MaryAlice is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, her godparents, Josh Beneviat and Amelia Dickson; her grandparents, William "Danny" and Yolanda (Spinelli) Beneviat; as well as, grandfather, John Rudzinski. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, AliceAnn (Peles) Rudzinski, whom she joins in heaven. She will be deeply missed. DONALD L. "DON" LIVINGSTON Age 77, of Port Vue, died June 29, 2019, at home. He ran for enjoyment and ran for his health, but now the race is over. Born October 30, 1941, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Harry J. and Elizabeth Rachel (Kovach) Livingston and the husband of Janet S. "Jan" (Spice) Livingston. Don retired from McKeesport Area School District, where he taught Organic Chemistry, for over 30 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving with the 92nd Medical Detachment in Budingen, Germany. He had a passion for sports and loved coaching the Little Tigers, Daily news teams and PVAA. In all his years of coaching, teaching, and nourishing the young minds, his advice was to always, "Do Your Own Best." In addition to his wife, Don is survived by his sons, Donald C. (Victoria) of Mt. Lebanon and Douglas J. (Pam) Livingston of North Huntingdon; step-children, Jerrod K. (Brandi) Williams of Sheridan, AR and Janalyn (Greg) Massey of North Little Rock, AR; grandchildren, Tyler, Micayla, Baylor and Judson; aunt, Jean Livingston; many nieces and nephews; close cousins, Bobby "Fuzzy", Gary and Janice. Family and friends will be received at WILLIG FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m., in the funeral home chapel. MARJORIE JUNE (GLANCY) BRANNAN Age 93, of N. Versailles, PA died at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, June 29, 2019. She was the daughter of the late Raymond V. and Harriet Murphy Glancy and was born in Gallitzin, PA on July 6, 1925. She was married for 53 years to the late Edward J. Brannan who died January 29, 2002. She is survived by her children, Kenneth (Rhonda) Brannan of Annapolis, MD; Robert (the late Sheree) Brannan of Pasadena, MD; Maureen (the late Andrew) Ryan of Wall, PA; Lorraine (Gene) Rizzo of N. Versailles; Bernadette (David) Galinskie of Shiremanstown, PA; Christine (Michael) Reed of Chapel Hill, NC; grandchildren, Andrea Murajda; Jonathan (Emily) Brannnan; Elaine (Dan) Fisher; Vincent Brannan; Ellen (Craig) Wilson; Emmalynn Galinskie; Lucas Reed; Elise Galinskie; Kaitlyn Reed. Also, great grandchild, Layla Wilson and step grandson, Jay (Aimee) Murphy; step great-grandchildren, Kate and Sarah Murphy and sisters; Dolores Sylvestor of Columbia, S. Carolina, Romaine (Joseph) Boley of Hollidaysburg, PA and many loving and caring nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Virginia and Walter Buck and Betty and Howard Anstead. Marjorie graduated in 1943 as a Registered Nurse from Ohio Valley General Hospital and continued as an employee. While raising her children she was employed by McKeesport Hospital and the former Columbia Hospital located in Wilkinsburg. She was very active in volunteering for her children's school and church, St. Robert Bellarmine. She was involved with the Girls Scouts of Western PA while serving as a leader for over 25 years and then serving on the Catholic Committee on Scouting for more than 40 years. Marjorie also volunteered for many years at St. Peter's Child Development Center working with special needs children. She volunteered for the East Allegheny Meals-On-Wheels well into her nineties. ROBERT R. BERRETT Age 74, of Manor Boro, died on Friday, June 28, 2019 in his home. He was born on October 16, 1944 in Fredericksburg, VA to the late Robert S. Berrett and Dorothy (Brindle) Berrett Schummer. Bob graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a MEd and was a retired teacher who taught in Wilkinsburg School District for his entire 36 year career. He was a huge Pittsburgh sports fan and enjoyed coaching youth basketball and soccer. His greatest achievement was his three children. Bob is survived by his wife, Linda Dailey Berrett; son, Robert E. (Amanda) Berrett; twin daughters, Rebecca Berrett and Jennifer (Cenk) Guler; and four grandchildren, Robby and Rachel Berrett and Nova and Bekir Guler. There will be no public visitation. REGIS R. FRANSKOUSKY Of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, died June 24, 2019. One of nine children, he was born to Fredrick and Stella Franskousky in Pittsburgh, PA, on January 7, 1931. He was married for 57 years to his beloved wife, Eleanor "Ellie", enjoying their retirement years near the Beach. He is survived by sons, Robert and James; daughters-in-law, Jill and Susan; four grandchildren, Kate (husband, Kyle Cameron), Jill, Garrett, and Tanner; and two great-grandchildren, Reese and Ross. Regis spent his entire 60-year career in the flooring industry, where his creativity, good nature, and tireless dedications to the well-being of his customers made him a legend in the floor covering business and a joy to his colleagues. In addition to his professional service, Regis was a Korean War Veteran and an active member of the community with long standing service to: Rotary International, Boys and Girls Clubs, Jacksonville Beach Police Department Citizens Academy, Masonic Lodge, Shriners International, National Exchange Club, and The Players Championship. JOSEPH E. K. ADJAYE Aged 79, enjoyed a rich and well lived life. Born on April 7, 1940, in Tarkwa, Ghana to Elizabeth Ulzen Adjaye and Robert Adjaye, he graduated from St. Augustine's College (high school) in Ghana in 1957. He received his BA, with honors, from the University of Ghana, Legon in 1963, MA from SUNY-Binghamton, MA from Northwestern, and his PhD from Northwestern University. Professor Adjaye was an eminent scholar and one of the topmost Ghanaian historians who had a distinguished teaching and administrative career at several educational institutions in Ghana and the US, including the University of Illinois (1977-1980), University of Wisconsin - Madison (1980-1987) and the University of Pittsburgh (1987-2011). He authored seven books, dozens of articles, book chapters and review essays that span subjects as diverse as chieftaincy, cultural transmission, information transformation, indigenous knowledge, Ghanaian rituals, sustainable development, time in the Black experience, Black popular culture, the African Diaspora and many more. Professor Adjaye was the recipient of numerous awards and honors including Ghana's Teacher Ambassador to the U.S. (1972-73), Choice magazine Outstanding Academic Book award, Herskovits finalist for Diplomacy and Diplomats in 19th Century Asante, various Fulbright-Hays and National Endowment for the Humanities grants, and teaching and research grants from the University of Pittsburgh and Northwestern University. Family oriented, scholarly, humorous, a joker, very conscientious, deeply religious and strong in the face of adversity, Professor Adjaye was an accomplished ping-pong player, former 800 meter track runner and loved to travel. Above all, he will be remembered for his generosity. He donated a fully-equipped computer lab to St. Augustine's College and sponsored the renovation of its sport stadium. He sponsored the friends of relatives that he did not know who were entering the US, established a scholarship endowment at the University of Ghana and frequently helped fellow parishioners who were having financial difficulties. He is survived by wife, Dinah Adjaye; children, Maureen Aryee (Daniel) and Stacie Adjaye-Mims (Harry); grandchildren, Audrey-Claire and Gracie; siblings, Rose Priddy, Robert Adjaye, Angela Adjaye, Sophia Adjaye, John DeHeer Adjaye, Florence Attah-Baah, and Gloria Asamoah; numerous nieces and nephews, fellow parishioners and colleagues. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kwammena Essilfie Adjaye. Friends will be received at JOHN A. MARY I. "MARIE" (FRYDRYCH) PLECENIK Age 96, of East McKeesport, died Saturday, June 29, 2019. She was born May 19, 1923 in South Wilmerding, a daughter of the late Antonio and Mary (Dlugosz) Frydrych and was also preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Stephen C. Plecenik and brothers, Blanchard, Edward, Henry, and Chester Frydrych. Marie was an employee of Westinghouse Airbrake Co., Wilmerding from the early 1940's until she married her husband in 1949. She was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Church and was an avid bowler with her husband at Great Valley Lanes. She was very proud of her Polish heritage. Surviving are her children, Marian (Art) Belotti and Mark Plecenik; her grandchildren, Christina (Marty) Moyer and Annette (Nathan) Suwalski; three great-grandchildren, Breanna and Dylan Suwalski and Levi Moyer; also nieces and nephews. ROBERT L. BAKER Of North Braddock, age 75, died on Saturday, June 29, 2019. Beloved husband of Patricia A. (Dekret) Baker for 52 years; loving and proud father of Robert L, (Jeannette) Baker, II of Monroeville, Edward (Marci) Baker of Duquesne and Patrick (Julie) Baker of Irwin; treasured grandfather of Joshua Boyle, Caitlin (Dustin) Moore, Robert H., Zachary and Ian Baker; brother of Ruth baker of NJ; nephew of Jane Gira of Plum. Bob was an U.S.Army veteran, serving in Korea at the onset of the Vietnam War. He was employed as a mill press operator for WABCO in Wilmerding for 20 years until a plant slowdown in the 1980's. He then retrained and was hired with the Social Security Administration. Bob specialized in working with the blind employees in the downtown office of the SSA. His favorite pastime was fishing at various locations on the Monongahela River and at Loyalhanna Lake. He appreciated animals and deeply loved and was devoted to his family. Bob was a selfless man and was genuinely grateful for the smallest act of kindness bestowed upon him. Friends are welcome on Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. at PATRICK T. ROBERTA MICHELINE RODKEY MILESKI Spartanburg, SC - Age 67, wife of John G. Mileski, died Sunday, June 30, 2019. She was born on March 13, 1952 to the late Robert M. and Rose Mae Intorre Rodkey. Roberta's spiritual gift was hospitality. She was a good and faithful servant of the Lord and an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church, ELCA. In addition to her husband of 46 years, she is survived by her son, Gregory Mileski (Jennifer), of Boston, MA; two daughters, Rosanne Bernstein (Michael), of Spartanburg, and Rachel Mileski, of Spartanburg; three nephews, Jason Buterbaugh, of Pittsburgh, PA, Eric Buterbaugh, of Hoboken, NJ, and Brian Buterbaugh, of New York, NY. Roberta was blessed with three grandsons and two granddaughters. She was predeceased by her sister, Margaret R. Woodfill. HARRY A. SCAVO Of Pittsburgh, formerly of Washington Township, died peacefully Sunday, June 30, 2019, in St. Clair Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born September 26, 1936, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Vincent and Olive (Starrett) Scavo. He was also preceded in death by four siblings. Harry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Harry is survived by his beloved wife of 56 yeras, Jane (Crump) Scavo; daughter, Christina Stuart (Albert), of Dormont; son, Vincent Scavo (Elizabeth), of New Kensington; brother, Francis Scavo, of Ruthfordton, NC; and many, nieces, nephews, and friends. He will be especially missed by his six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
