(Marie) Graff, Jr., and Kathleen Glaser; brother of Joan (Dennis) Kerr, William (Carol) Graff, Janet (James) Fullerton, John (Jackie) Graff, James (Kimberly) Graff and Earl (Tracy) Graff; grandfather of Esperanza Mary Graff; also survived by many nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews; preceded in death by his late wife, Sandra E. Graff. Joseph was a proud member of the U.S. Navy and served during the Vietnam War. He was President of Board of Directors and 2nd Vice of the American Legion Post 512 in Unionville. He also served as the former Township Supervisor for New Sewickley Township. She was born on December 18, 1923, to the late Michael and Mary Tomcho Yanchik. Beside her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Hopta on May 28, 1972. She is survived by her loving children, Carol Whigham (late William) and twins, John Hopta and Janet (Alan) Kondas; nieces and nephews and grandnieces and nephews. Beside her parents, husband, and son-in-law, she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Mary and Ann Yanchik and an infant brother, Michael Yanchik. Donald was an All American Soap Box Derby Hall of Famer. He was a proud graduate of Hobart High School in the class of 1952. After high school, he went to Purdue University, where he met his beloved wife of 62 years, Shirley. Don's career started with the EJ and E railroad, US Steel and retired from Harbison Walker after 24 years. Donald was an avid ?sherman and hunter. CARNAHAN DAVID E . Age 76, of Elizabeth Township, passed away Sunday, March 17th at his home. Born January 24, 1943, in McKeesport; son of the late Glenn E. and Nancy Mae (Hayden) Carnahan; beloved husband of 55 years to Mary Jane (Matuschek) Carnahan; loving father of David (Jennifer), Michael, and the late Dr. Brian Carnahan; dearest “Pap” to grandchildren Michael, Gavin, Patrick, Liam, Megan, William and Nathaniel, and cherished father-in-law to Maria Witt, Sandra   Carnahan, Paula   Carnahan-Kuhns and the late Lisa Otrosina; best friend to his canine companion Grady. David earned a BS in metallurgical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and an MBA from WVU. He was the Vice President and General Manager of Penna Flame Industries in Zelienople; being employed there for 30 years. David was an avid tennis player with the Elizabeth Tennis Club, and a passionate Civil War buff. He successfully battled type-I diabetes for 63 years. He was a devoted family man and loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. GRAB WILLIAM DAVID Mr. William David Grab “Willie”, “Bill”, “Bud” passed away after his incredibly hard-fought battle with cancer, peacefully, at home and surrounded by his family on March 18, 2019. He is survived by a wife like no other, Sally; three children, Adrienne (Scott), Sheila (John), and Will (Sondra); three grandchildren, Ryan, Rory, and Grady; four siblings, John (Denise), Barbara (Dan), Peggy (Vince), and Marilyn; and is preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Grab; and his sister, Catherine (Bob). He was blessed by an abundance of friends throughout the Pittsburgh area and beyond, but especially a group from Saint Francis University in Loretto, PA. For that, he has a lifetime of thanks. He was a true professional and a valued member of several large Pittsburgh ?rms during his career. Bud was a man of unwavering faith and a devoted member of the Catholic Church. FERRY JAMES R . Pittsburgh native James R. Ferry, age 80, died peacefully Sunday morning, March 17, 2019. He was the son of the late James J. and Edna Ferry. Jim was the former president of Ferry Electric Company, an electrical contracting ?rm founded in 1926 by his father, James J. Ferry, and currently managed by his son, James J. Ferry II, who joined the business in 1992. He graduated with a B.S. in Industrial Management from St. Vincent College in Latrobe, PA. He also held an Electrical Engineering Certi?cate from Pennsylvania State University. His Electrical Industry involvement included membership in the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Board Member and past of?cer of the Western Pennsylvania Chapter of the National Electric Contractors Association, Trustee of the IBEW Local #5 Pension and Health Insurance Plans, and Board Member of the Pittsburgh Builders Exchange. He also was a member of the Electric League of Western Pennsylvania and was named the Electric League's Man of the Year. His other civic involvements included membership in the Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation, Board member of Pittsburgh Terminal Properties, and memberships over the years in South Hills Country Club and St. Clair Country Club. He was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Bethel Park. He was active in starting St. Thomas More Manor and served on its Board. He also served on the boards of The Chimbote Foundation and the Serra Club of Pittsburgh. Jim and his wife lived in Marco Island, FL, for 18 years before returning to Pittsburgh. While in Marco, they were members of San Marco Catholic Church. They also held memberships in the Marco Island Yacht Club and the Marco Island Power Squadron, and he served both organizations in various capacities. Some of Jim's greatest joys included spending time with his family, skiing with friends, and boating. Jim is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Carleen (Hogan); and four children: Lynne (Glenn) Whiteford of Los Angeles, CA, Marianne (Richard) Evans of Asheboro, NC, James J. Ferry II (Michelle) of Pittsburgh, and Patricia (Jeffrey) Bentivoglio of Carmel, IN. He also is survived by ten grandchildren: Julia, James Dennis (JD) and Anne Ferry; Joshua, Alexandra, Luke and Grace Evans; and Katherine, Samantha and Abigail Bentivoglio. Jim is also survived by his sister, Jean (Gerald) Comber and her children, Paul (AnneMarie), Michael (Lori) and Anne (Joel) Madison. Jim was predeceased by his sister, Janet Ferry Palumbo, as well as by her children, Edna Thomas Richardson, Anna Thomas, and Walter Thomas. KLEPPNER REVEREND JOSEPH J., S.T.L ., Ph.D. Age 73, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2019, on the Solemnity of St. Joseph, at Concordia at Villa St. Joseph, Baden. Born June 18, 1945 in North Charleroi, PA, he was a son of the late John and Evelyn (Zef?ro) Kleppner. Fr. Kleppner attended St. Charles Elementary School, Donora; graduated from Mon Valley Catholic High School, and received his Bachelor of Arts from St. Vincent Seminary, Latrobe, PA, 1968. He furthered his education by receiving the following degrees: Bachelor of Sacred Theology from the Ponti?cal Gregorian University, Rome, Italy, 1970; Licentiate in Sacred Theology for the Ponti?cal University of St. Thomas Aquinas, Rome, Italy, 1972; and Doctor of Philosophy from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, PA, 1985. He was ordained as a priest and incardinated into the Diocese of Pittsburgh on December 17, 1971 by Bishop Hickey at St. Peter Basilica, Rome, Italy. Fr. His previous roles in the Pittsburgh Diocese include: Board of Directors- Catholic Social Service; Vicariate One Representative; Adjunct Spiritual Director; Theological Advisory Committee- Christian Associates; Member- Pennsylvania Conference on the Inter Church Cooperation; Confessor-Marian Manor; Chairman - Theological Commission; Board of Directors-Pittsburgh Catholic; Appointed Member-College of Consultors, and Member- Priest Council. Fr. Kleppner also served his community as a member of the Board of Directors of Community College of Beaver County and of Gateway Rehabilitation, both in Center Township, PA. At St. Frances Cabrini, his last assignment, he is remembered for his priestly service and generous spirit. Fr. Kleppner was a caring compassionate person who performed many acts of kindness that were never known. He had a deep love for those with special needs and the unborn. He is survived by his brother, John Kleppner; six cousins; and dear friends, Emilio D'Antonio, Sue Henderson, and Michael and Laura Rubino. Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 6 p.m. at TATALOVICH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, INC., Center Twp., 3475 Brodhead Rd., Monaca, PA 15061. A Vesper Service will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. in St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 115 Trinity Drive, Aliquippa, PA 15001. Fr. Kleppner will lie in state Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Center Twp. SCHICK DOROTHY It is with great sadness that the family of our beloved Dorothy (Maudice-Greaves) Schick announces her passing on March 14th, 2019. A native of Baldwin, PA ,and only child to William and Lillian Maudice, Dorothy was born on March 1st, 1942, and attended Baldwin High School. She received her Bachelor Degree in Special Education at California University of Pennsylvania. Dorothy spent the majority of her professional career as a Contract Administrator at Westinghouse. Dorothy will be sadly missed by her husband and fellow traveler, Paul, who adored Dorothy and cherished the 23 years he spent with his best friend. They were an inseparable pair and the unsel?sh love and affection they showed each other was an inspiration to all who know them. Dorothy was an avid reader and kept up with current events. She enjoyed staying active outdoors and spent every nice day walking, biking and puttering in her vegetable and ?ower gardens. She and Paul often traveled internationally and spent the last few years living in their RV and touring the US. Everywhere Dorothy went, she made new friends. Her outgoing and friendly nature, along with her positive outlook and great listening skills made her a joy to be around. Her courageous spirit carried her through to the end. Even while battling pancreatic cancer, she lived her life as she always did, without a complaint, always asking about how others are doing and always ready to lend a hand. She was truly one of a kind. Dorothy will be lovingly remembered by her very special Godson, Johnny Scholtz and his wife Laureen; her stepchildren Todd Schick and Beth Gates; her ?ve grandchildren, her great-grandchild Blakey; and the close friends and family members she loved. A celebration of Dorothy's life and Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, March 24th at 2 p.m. in the Club House of the Clover Ridge Community, 300 Ridge Lane, Murrysville, PA 15668. LEE -RYAN PAULA Of McMurray, PA, formerly of Morgantown, WV, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2019. Paula was born in Chinon, France on December 4, 1962, to Wilda Lee and the late Ronald Lee. Paula graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in chemical engineering and worked in the gas control valve industry for many years. She was beloved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Paula was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and attended Faith Chapel Community Church in Lawrence, PA. She took every opportunity to share the good news of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a loving wife and mother and is survived by her loving husband, Mark Ryan; two sons, Zac and Luke Ryan; mother, Wilda Lee; sister, Ronda Veltri; and brothers, Blake Lee (Leslie) and Craig Harvey (Sharon) and several nieces and nephews.
