McCARTHY JAMES "JIMMY" M. Born November 13, 1931, in Limerick, Ireland, died November 6, 2015. The youngest child of Richard and Josephine McCarthy, Wool and Hide merchants in "Mayville", Ballinacurra, Limerick. He leaves many his nieces and nephews in Dublin, Ireland. Jimmy was horse jockey throughout Ireland and England notably in the Curragh with Martin Quirke and with Tom Costelloe in Clare. He rode a number of winners most famously "Montcapitane" sire to the legendry Gold Cup Winner "Captain Christie" In 1977 Jimmy moved to America and worked for the family on a farm outside New York. He later moved to Pittsburgh to work on Barberry Farms in Sewickley. Jimmy was the beloved family friend of Bob, Lisa, Lauren and Kevin Simpson also of Kilbuck. Friends from the local pubs. There will be no visitation. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on August 8, 1923, to Edward and Jennie Archibald. Gladys was preceded in death by her beloved husband of many years, John Kluse. Gladys is survived by her two sons, John and Jay Kluse; sister, Lois Tevis; two brothers, William and Thomas Archibald; as well as four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Edward Kluse; sister, Edith Fagan; brother, Edward Archibald; and second husband, George Vartenisian. Beloved husband of Brenda (Hageman) Yost; loving father of Gretchen (Michael) Haid, Heidi (Daniel) Fonner, Wendy (Dean) Hardt, Krista (Michael) Wood, Ingrid (Donald) Pruss, Liesl (Craig) Stevenson and Elsa Yost; grandfather of Michael, Jacob, Joseph, Zachary, Aaron, Matthew, Kristen, Katie, Sarah, Megan, Danny, Tyler, Alex, Trevor and the late Marissa; brother of Rev. STOJANOVIC HELEN P. (SIDUN) Of North Versailles, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 12, 2015. Born February 11, 1924, in Duquesne, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Elizabeth Sidun. Beloved wife of the late Samuel Stojanovic for 59 years; loving mother of Robert (Janet) Stojanovic, Linda (Scott) Rodgers and Samuel (Janet) Stojanovic; also six grandchildren, Bobbi, Matthew, Brett, Katelyn, Josh and Jason; and great- grandson, Shane; sister of the late James Sidun. Helen and her husband, Sam, were devoted to each other and enjoyed traveling and golfing together. After retirement, they lived in Florida for almost 20 years and she enjoyed going to Disney World with her grandchildren. She always put her family first and provided moral support and encouragement. She worked in the retail store industry most of her life and had many friends. She will be missed but never forgotten. HOLTHAUS MARY ADELINE NEELY Age 92, passed peacefully November 11, 2015, at the Masonic Village of Sewickley. Born February 27, 1923, she was the loving wife of the late William Herman Holthaus with whom she celebrated 70 years of marriage before his passing in November, 2013. Mary was the daughter of the late Robert B. Neely, Sr. and Elizabeth Campbell Neely. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert B. Neely, Jr. Mary was a graduate of Peabody High School, then spent her adult years in the North Hills and later in Ben Avon Heights. She had been a charter member of Christ Lutheran Church in Ross Township, and then a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Perrysville. She always put her family first, whether coaching daughter, Carol's, softball team, helping to organize daughter, Nancy's, senior prom, or supporting the many activities of her daughters and grandchildren. A great Pirates and Steelers fan, Mary also loved collecting Hummels, sewing, and shopping up and down the East Coast. Although Mary loved Pittsburgh, she hated winter, and was happy to spend many winters at her condo in Clearwater, FL. Mary is survived by her daughters, Nancy Jean Hrivnak and husband, Martin, of Harrisburg, PA, and Carol Ann Bickert and husband, Glenn, of Lake Forest, CA; grandchildren, Marta Penman and husband, Rick, of Carlsbad, CA, Monika Guentert and husband, Phil, of San Jose, CA, Martin Hrivnak and wife, Frances, of Washington, DC, and Matthew Hrivnak and wife, Amanda, of Cranston, RI; six great- grandchildren; nephews, Robert and Mark Neely and their families; and special family friend, Leland Miller. As a devoted “mother” to her furry children, she will be happy to be reunited with Blackie, Princess, Laddie, and Honey Bun. Mary will be greatly missed. No visitation. MARKOSKY MARIE J. Age 92, of Sierra Vista, AZ, died at 10:15 a.m. Friday, November 6, 2015. She was born November 30, 1922, in Canonsburg, PA, daughter of the late Jacob and Rose (Kruszynska) Ladzinski. She was the last of nine children to be received into heaven to join her parents and siblings. Mrs. Markosky was a member of Our Lady of Grace Church in Scott Township, PA for over 55 years and she enjoyed helping with the bazaar and festival each year. She loved people and many will agree she was one of the most caring individuals who could never seem to do enough for anyone she would meet. In August of 1941, she married Anthony E. Markosky, who died May 26, 1990. They lived together in Canonsburg, PA until moving to Scott Township in 1955 where she resided until moving to Arizona to live with her only child, Toni Campbell, in 2010. She is survived by her daughter, Marie A. Campbell "Toni" of Sierra Vista, AZ; two grandsons, Craig A. Campbell (Jerry Mogridge) of Mesa, AZ and Glenn D. Campbell of Sierra Vista, AZ; one great-granddaughter, Taylor Olberding of Iowa City, IA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Deceased are five brothers, Anthony, Zigmund, John, Edward and Alex Ladzinski; and three sisters, Loretta Roman, Theresa Toth and Blanche Gregory. McCORMICK JUNE A. (GANDET) Age 97, of Masonic Village at Sewickley, formerly of Ben Avon, Monday, Nov. 9, 2015. She was born June 30, 1918, in East Liberty, the daughter of the late John and Christine (Henning) Gandet. Mrs. McCormick was a 1936 graduate of Perry High School and 1939 graduate of Suburban General School of Nursing in Bellevue. She married Dr. Richard H. McCormick on Aug. 30, 1941, and raised four children in Emsworth before moving to Ben Avon in 1960. She was an active member of the Women's Club of Ben Avon and the Emsworth United Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir and served as a Deacon and an Elder. Mrs. McCormick also took an active role in Scouting from Brownie to Senior Scouting as a Co-Troop Leader. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Richard H. McCormick; a daughter, Marjorie A. Langell; and a son, Sgt. Richard H. McCormick, Jr. She is survived by daughters, Linda J. McCormick (Robert Taylor) of Freedom and Joann C. McCormick of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Richard H. and William R. Langell, Jr. and Heidi Odom (Rob); great- grandchildren, 2nd Lt. Tyler and Jenna Odom; sister, Joann Bingle (William); also survived by many nieces, nephews and close friends Dr. and Mrs. V. Murthy. Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
