DAWN RAYMOND B., Jr. Age 49, of Pittsburgh, passed away on June 25, 2018, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. Loving son of Raymond and Norma (McNeice) Dawn, Sr.; beloved husband of Rebecca; baby brother of Lisa (Laura Hernandez) Dawn, Lynn (Ken) Sabolovic, and Laurie (Domenico) Borriello; uncle to Angelena, James, Anthony, Domenic, and Sofia Borriello, and Justin, Nicholas and Kayleigh Sabolovic. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Ray was self employed as a general contractor and was truly a jack of all trades. He was dedicated to his work, and his perfectionism shined through in everything he did. In his free time he loved to run, go on bike rides and spend time outdoors. Bradley, the father of her children. Gail was a graduate of Dormont High School and earned her nursing degree from the School of Practical Nursing, Passavant Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. She took great pride in her nursing career through her devotion, compassion and care. Gail was a proud mother who felt privileged raising her family. "LIZ" Age 71, of Cranberry Twp., passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born October 3, 1946, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Stephen J. Blasco and Mary (Peltz) Blasco. Liz leaves behind her husband of 48 1/2 years, Daniel M. Wiegand of Cranberry Twp.; two sons, Daniel L. Wiegand and his wife, Kathy Woodford, of Durham, NC, and Jared A. Wiegand and his wife, Amanda, of Pittsburgh; and her brother, George Blasco and his wife, Judy, of Hookstown. Liz was a faithful member of St. Ferdinand's Catholic Church, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and in the White Elephant Ministry. She was a lover of animals, especially her cherished new puppy, Jonah, and her granddogs, Wallace, Vegas and Crosby. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2018, at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church, 2535 Rochester Rd., Cranberry Twp., PA 16066, with the Rev. MAMATAS MARY (KOKLANARIS) On Tuesday, June 26, 2018 Mary Mamatas, age 89, of Penn Hills, PA passed away peacefully at her home with family by her side. Mary was born on January 26, 1929 in Pittsburgh, PA. Raised in Monessen, PA, Mary graduated from Monessen High School in 1947 as the Class Valedictorian and received a scholarship to the University of Pittsburgh where she graduated Cum Laude with a Mathematics degree. Mary was recruited by General Electric Boston, MA but became a teacher and taught math at Monessen High School and Verona High School, and later as a substitute math teacher at Penn Hills High School. Beloved wife of the late Gus E. Mamatas, Mary is survived by her children, Emanuel (Ginny) Mamatas of Washington, D.C. and Andrea (Mike) Perkins of Richmond, VA; and her sister, Argie Xilas (Koklanaris) of Pittsburgh, PA. Mary is also survived by her grandchildren, Alexa and Dean Mamatas, Alaina and Christopher Perkins; and many loving nieces and nephews. Mary was an active member of the Dormition of the Theotokos Greek Orthodox Church, Pan-Icarian Foundation - Icaros Chapter, Penn Hills Senior Center, Penn Hills Book Club, Penn Hills YMCA, and Silver Sneakers. Devoted Mother of William (Teri) Pickl; grandmother of Carl (21), Conrad (21), Corinne (13), and Cailey (11) Pickl; sister of Arlene Wellhausen (deceased) and Mary (Patrick) Joint; daughter of Edward and Marie Briggs. Diane was very active in the community with Pickl Puppet Productions, Face Painting, Red Hat Society, and Clown performances. Diane enjoyed her extensive postal career, God's beautiful scenery, travel, her grandchildren, anything that would bring a laugh, and all things Halloween. In her later years, she became quite the poet, being honored by many organizations she wrote about in rhyme.
