WYMA BRUCE HARRIS Age 83, passed away peacefully in his home in Forest Hills on May 23, 2018. Bruce was born on September 25, 1934, in Sioux City, IA, to Harry Peter Wyma and Mildred L. (Harris) Wyma. Bruce received his bachelor of science degree from Iowa State University in chemical engineering through an NROTC scholarship that also prepared him for a lifetime of military service. Commissioned as a Naval Aviator, he flew on active duty for four years and then served as an active Naval Reservist from 1960 to 1988, retiring as a Captain. He came to Pittsburgh in 1960 as a chemical and sales development engineer for Alcoa, then moved into Corporate International Financial Management after receiving his MBA in Finance from the University of Pittsburgh in 1967. He worked in financial investments beginning in 1970 with Hornblower & Weeks and continued with many other firms until his retirement from Morgan Stanley in 1988. Bruce enjoyed family, friends, gardening, golf, and anything fast. Bruce was the father of Kimberly Wyma Emert (William), Kari Wyma-Dominey (Lex), and the late Peter Bruce Wyma. He is also survived by his former wife, Anne Burnett Wyma; his sister, Judith Wyma Covey (Keith); nephews, Scot Covey (Kim) and Matthew Covey (Marla); great-nephew, Jasper Covey; grandchildren, Miles Wyma Dominey (Kayde), Lela Anne Dominey, Tess Swan Dominey, Sydney Anne Wyma; and two great-granddaughters, Zykai and Tavia. Bruce was preceded in death by his partner of 30 years, Patricia Mankel. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. KERR LEO J., Jr. Age 76, of Lawrenceville, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 21, 2018. Born October 28, 1941, he was the son of Leo Kerr, Sr. and Mary Robson Kerr. He is survived by his sister, Marcy Alexander; and three children, Matthew, Jacob and Amanda; along with grandnieces and nephews. A lifelong Pittsburgher, Leo attended Central Catholic High School before enlisting in the Marines. After serving his country he spent decades working in the criminal justice, security and health insurance fields. His passion for sports was eclipsed only by his love for his family and friends. WRENSHALL WILLIAM EBBS IV Died May 23, 2018, husband of Jane (Waldie); father of Mat, Eliza, Kate, and Sarah; father-in-law of James, Nick and Josh; grandfather of Abraham and William; son of Mary Ann; brother of Ann and Mary. The Wrenshall Family came to Pittsburgh in 1797 when John Mathew Wrenshall settled at the Point as a lay minister of the Methodist-Episcopal Church. The Wrenshall family homestead, Woodville, built in 1785 by General John Neville, was gifted to the Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation in 1973. Bill grew up in Ingomar and went to North Allegheny High School before attending college at the University of Delaware. He was a member of the Theta Chi fraternity and graduated with a bachelor's in political science. His first love was the Stone Harbor Beach Patrol, where he lifeguarded for five summers during and after college. He returned to Pittsburgh and joined his father Bill III in the insurance industry. He married Jane Waldie in 1977, after meeting her on a blind date. Children followed: Mat in 1980, Eliza in 1981, Kate in 1983, and Sarah in 1986. Bill was a loyal member of the Allegheny Country Club, and loved golfing. He was also a longtime member of the Pittsburgh Athletic Association and the Oxford Athletic Club. Bill loved his children (the kids) and loved supporting them in their various activities, spending inordinate amounts of time at swimming meets, crew regattas, dance recitals, plays, baseball and softball games. Bill worked tirelessly for The Watson Institute, where he sat on the board for many years. He was a great supporter of the North Hills YMCA and served as president of the Western Pennsylvania Country Club Swimming Association. Bill was loved by all he met. He was a storyteller, a mixer of strong drinks, and a master of the art of making lasting friends. He will be sorely missed by all. GALL ROBERT F. Age 90, of Upper St. Clair, gone fishing with the lord on Thursday, May 24, 2018. He was predeceased by wives, Barbara and Miriam and son, Robert F., Jr. He is survived by a son, Michael (Sandra); a nephew, several nieces and their children. Robert spent most of his life in Southwestern PA. After graduating from Beallsville High School, he enlisted in the US Navy and saw active sea duty on the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans as an electronics technician in the ships company of the USS George M. Randall (AP-115) from 1945-1947. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1951, was employed by Price Waterhouse in the practice of public accounting (CPA). Beginning in 1959 he was employed in the financial area by Mellon family interests until his retirement in 1988. He was a Master Mason and a Shriner. He was also a longtime member of the Pittsburgh Sportsmen's Luncheon Club and longtime former member of the Duquesne Club, St. Clair Country Club and the Spruce Creek Rod & Gun Club. He had a great love for fly fishing for trout and salmon. He fished extensively in the western hemisphere, from Alaska to northern Canada, in 20 of the contiguous 48 states of the U.S., the Bahamas, the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, as well as Chile and Argentina. RICE GEORGE F., Sr. Of Columbia, passed away on Friday, May 25, 2018. He was married to the late Eileen Scanlon and a son of the late Frank and Catherine Carrigan Rice. Born in Turtle Creek, PA, he was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and Carnegie Mellon University. He served in the US Army Signal Corps and later retired from Westinghouse Corporation after 45 years as a Senior Engineer in 1996. George and Eileen loved golf and tennis. The USTA recognized George as a life umpire. A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, he served as an usher and Eucharistic Minister. George volunteered for SCORE and was a member of the Golden Kiwanis, Saraband, and the Rockbridge Club. His work with the Rockbridge Ice Show benefitted the Babcock Center. George's faith, courage, and perseverance were a testimony to others. Survivors include his daughter, Lorrie Rice Boni (Steve); son, George F. Rice, Jr. (Gena); grandsons, Andrew Rice, Christopher Rice (Alison); nephews, Frank, Neil, Jeffrey; nieces, Cristina, and Nicki. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine; brothers, Cornelius, Bernard; and nephew, David. SMITH VINCENT V. Age 91, of Greensburg, died peacefully on Friday, May 25, 2018, with his devoted wife and friends by his side. The son of the late Vencil and Virginia A. Reitz Smith, Vince was born October 2, 1926, in Pittsburgh, PA. His family soon after moved to Hillside, PA where Vince grew up. While still in high school at the age of 16, he signed up for the United States Army Air Corps. He graduated at 17 and went to work. When Vince turned 18, the Army contacted him to report for duty near Harrisburg. He then went to Sheppard Field, TX for basic training. From there he went to serve in France and Germany. He wanted to fly the planes but depth perception problems prevented him from becoming a pilot. After he was discharged from the Army, he came home and was missing Europe. He then returned to Germany for several years working for the Army as a civilian. Back in the United States, Vince became a successful businessman before he retired at age 80. Vince was strong, loyal, proud and fiercely competitive. Vince loved being in and running his own business. When the rest of the world was thinking of retiring, Vince was just getting started. He had fire and spunk in him up until the very end. He was a board member of the National Midas Dealers association and lifetime member of the American Legion. Vince's hobbies included motor yachting. He loved being on the water. He also enjoyed mentoring, reading, gardening, card playing, dancing, and traveling. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Lou Smith Ross; and a niece, Parece Smith. Vince is survived by his wife, Nancy Dupier Smith; his dog, Vincenza; a brother, Dwain Smith and his wife, Cricket of Latrobe; a sister, Phyllis Bridge, also of Latrobe; nephews, Kory Smith (Dayna), Robert Bridge, Jr. (Dacie); nieces, Dacie Bridge and Shanon Wilson (Rodger); great- niece, Rheagan Smith; children, Steven Rosensteel and his wife, Chinyere of Florida, Brian Rosensteel and his wife, Annette Villanueva of Florida, and Ariana Kelleter of Germany; grandchildren, Ashley, Shannon, Krystal, Steven, Jr., and Cynthia.
