SHALLENBERGER NATALIE HELEN (BERND) Age 84, of Wexford, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Karl and Helene Bernd. Natalie is survived by her husband, Lawrence Shallenberger and their two loving children, Curtis (Suzanne) Shallenberger of Beaver Falls, and Caryn (Will) McMarlin of Pittsburgh; sister, Amelia Bernd; her grandchildren, Justin (Mindie), Kerry, and Colin (Sarah) McMarlin, Leah Shallenberger; as well as her great- grandchildren, Elora, Natalie, and Danielle McMarlin. Natalie met Larwence in Newcastle while they were teenagers, and together they created a life that would span the course of 70 years. In 1961, they purchased the home in Wexford where they would raise Curtis and Caryn. It remains a home full of warm memories, replete with the laughter of their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a gentle, loving woman at heart, able to search out the positive in any given situation. An avid walker and nature enthusiast, Natalie spent many adventurous days hiking the trails of North Park with her beloved golden retriever, Casey. Over the course of her life, Natalie and Lawrence traveled throughout Europe, Africa, and Asia. She had a singular appreciation for the English language, working for many years as a copy editor at Frontiers International Travel. Her family and friends will forever remember a compassionate woman, always with a unique perspective of the world, who improved every life she touched. Her joy will be sorely missed by all those whose lives were fortunate enough to be graced with her presence. There is no visitation. He was born March 10, 1925, in Glassport, and was the son of the late Joseph and Genevieve (Altmiller) Walsh. He was the husband of the late Nancy Rae (Brady) Walsh who died December 7, 2007. Thomas was a member of St. Angela Merici Parish in White Oak, Knights of Columbus Council No. 10077 Elizabeth, and was a volunteer for St. Vincent de Paul. He was a member, president, and business agent for IBW Local 1919 for over 40 years. Thomas was a Father Figure to many. He was a US Army Air Force veteran of WWII. For his service he received the Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, WWII Victory Medal, and the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 1 Bronze Star. He is survived by daughters, Stephanie L. Walsh of McKeesport, Kathleen A. Burd of Elizabeth Twp.; son, Timothy J. (Mary E.) Walsh of Niceville, FL; grandchildren, Kelly M. Walsh, Eileen R. In 1943, Adam joined the Army at age 17, whereby he faithfully served his country during WWII in Okinawa, Japan. REILLY KEVIN ROBERT Age 66, of Zelienople, passed away on April 2, 2018, at Shadyside Hospital after a brief, but valiant, battle with cancer. Kevin was born in Amityville, NY, to Rosemary B. (Rago) Reilly of Pittsburgh and Robert J. Reilly of North Rose, NY. Kevin grew up in Dormont. Kevin is survived by his two children, his son, Kevin A. Reilly and wife, Melissa (Domergue), and granddaughter, Kiera, of Petaluma, CA; and daughter, Megan L. Langer and husband, Jason, and grandsons, Nathan and Caden, of Pittsburgh; and the mother of Kevin's children, his first wife, Roberta (Tarentino) Prenn of Zelienople. Kevin is also survived by his wife, Donna J. Statzer of Zelienople; his sister, Moira (Bob) Guttridge of Columbus, OH; and his half-sister, Seanna (Reilly) Rugenstein of Brookings, SD. Kevin has many cherished cousins, extended family and friends. Kevin was an alumni of Penn State University and a graduate of Dayton University. He was one of the first, and few, Certified Clinical Engineers in the country. Kevin served as the first Director of Biomedical Engineering at North Hills Passavant for 20 years and enjoyed another tenure of 15 years as the Director of Clinical Engineering at Jefferson Regional Hospital. Kevin was a maverick for recycling and over his tenure was Chair and Coordinator of Various Safety, Environment of Care, Hazardous Waste, Medical Equipment and Capital Committees. In addition, Kevin had his own consulting business for many years and served many clients. Kevin willingly used his engineering talents above and beyond his job to facilitate many special projects and events. One of his most noble creations was the PEACE sign that hung over Passavant Hospital's Professional Building. Kevin received numerous awards, accolades and acknowledgements for his accomplishments and contributions to his profession. Kevin played men's softball and traveled the county for tournaments for many years. He also played golf, ran leagues and helped with golf outings. Kevin enjoyed snow skiing, fishing, boating, travel, remodeling, Fiats, and gardening. He was also passionate about music and fireworks. Kevin Reilly was a stubborn Irish warrior. He was loyal, brave, charitable and the life of any event he attended. He loved people and they loved him. He enjoyed his children most of all and their achievements far exceeded anything he could imagine. Kevin wanted to be and was the father that he never had. Dan was born October 27, 1936, in Friendsville, MD to Harry and Margaret VanSickle, husband of Carol (Higinbotham) VanSickle; father of Lee Anne of Bethel Park and Lori (Dan) Barr of Upper St. Clair; grandfather of Daniel Barr of Upper St. Clair and Christopher (Chelsea) Barr of Bridgeville; great- grandfather of Kailee Barr, Declan Corba and Liam Barr; twin brother of Cloyde VanSickle of Hopwood, PA; brother of Irvin VanSickle of Northlake, IL and the late Marshall VanSickle and Barbara Benedek. HARDIN DONALD R. Age 83, of Plum Boro, passed away peacefully Friday, March 30, 2018, at his home. He was born July 23, 1934, in Jenners, Somerset County, and was a son of the late William Hardin and Mary (Warner) Hardin. Don was a graduate of Homer City High School and a Veteran Marine, having served in the Korean Conflict. He spent much of his career as a Drug and Alcohol Therapist working as an adolescent specialist at St. Francis Hospital, and a therapist at The Whale's Tale. Don was instrumental in founding Bethlehem Haven, a shelter for homeless women. After retirement, he delivered newspapers for the Valley New Dispatch for over 20 years. Don was an active friend of Bill W., celebrating 58 years of sobriety and founded many groups in the Pittsburgh area. He loved camping at Cook Forest, talking with his many friends, and was an avid reader. Most of all, he loved and cherished his family. To his family and friends "Don was love." He was a loving, wise, patient and honest man, blessed with a wonderful sense of humor, who walked humbly with the God of his understanding. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Rita; and his six children, Donald R. He was a member of Houston American Legion Post #902, PNA White Eagles Lodge #1746 of Canonsburg and a social member of the Slovene National Benefit Society Lodge #138 of Strabane. Surviving are brothers, Robert Dellapina of Boulder, CO; and nephew, Louis (Donna) Dellapina of Alexandria, OH; also surviving are many cousins and his sister-in-law, Mary Jane Dellapina of McDonald. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Louis and Peter Dellapina. Friends will be received Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the THOMAS-LITTLE FUNERAL SERVICE, INC., 314 W. Lincoln Avenue, McDonald (724-926- 2800). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Alphonsus R. C. Church, McDonald.
