BROWN JAMES WINFRED Age 72, was born on May 4, 1943, in Pittsburgh, PA. He was the son of the late Herman and Anna Margaret Ward. He passed peacefully on September 19, 2015, at his home. James was the loving and devoted father of four children, Michael Brown of Denver, CO, Jackinah Andrews (Sebastian) of Chesapeake, VA, Jaymes Brown (Veronica) of Philadelphia, PA, and Sgt. Jaren (Letitia) of Georgia. James was a giving, thoughtful and affectionate grandfather to three grandchildren, JaNeal Lavette, Michael Giles and Giovanni Brown. James is survived by sisters, Annette Somerford (Drew) of Hendersonville, NC and Marie Jackson (John) of Pittsburgh, PA; and brother, David Ward of Warner Robins, GA. James grew up in the Hill District where he graduated from Connolley Vocation School. He entered the Army and served his time there in the Signal Corps. He furthered his education and spent many years working for the Westinghouse Nuclear Center until they left the Pittsburgh area. CLARK JOHN BEVERLEY Formerly of Murrysville, died September 16, 2015, in Oklahoma City. Born in Port Dalhousie, Ontario on July 13, 1924, Professor Clark was a metallurgical engineer and researcher educated at the University of Toronto and Carnegie Institute of Technology (now Carnegie Mellon University). After earning his doctorate, Dr. Clark pursued his research at Dow Chemical Company in Midland, Michigan, Ford Motor Company's basic research laboratory, Dearborn, Michigan, and the University of Missouri-Rolla (now Missouri University of Science and Technology). On several leaves of absence from the university, he served at the National Science Foundation and what is now the National Institute of Standards and Technology. In 1960, he received the Howe Award of the American Society for Metals (ASM) for being the "author of the paper of highest merit published in the Metallurgical Transactions" that year, and in 1986, he was made a Fellow of the ASM. He was the author of numerous papers and was mentor to his students. He is survived by his wife, Ruth (Dudt), whom he married in 1951; his children, Harold (Linda Anthony), Elizabeth (David Seaman), and Fraser; four grandchildren and their spouses; and nieces and nephews in both the United States and Canada. A Memorial Service, followed by interment, will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2015, at the Temple of Memories, Allegheny Cemetery (4715 Penn Avenue Entrance), Pittsburgh, PA. Guests will be received at 10:00 a.m., and the Service will begin at 10:30 a.m., led by Pastor Gregory Held of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Export, PA. A Memorial Service was previously held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Oklahoma City. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, P.O. STAUFFER J. MICHAEL Age 68, of McMurray, peacefully passed away, on Friday, September 18, 2015, at home, with his beloved wife of 45 years, Cheryl (D'Antoni) by his side. Mike, son of the late Oliver G. and Edith L. Stauffer, graduated from Bethel Park High School (1964) and Point Park University (1973). His professional career in consumer and commercial credit lasted 35 years but his true passion occurred post retirement. Mike was an active ESL tutor for Greater Pittsburgh Literacy Council and enthusiastic volunteer for ITxM blood drives and the Dan Berger Cord Blood program. Mike's enthusiasm was infectious whether he was traveling, or enjoying all Pittsburgh sports teams, sunsets and shopping. Being tethered to an oxygen tank due to COPD rarely stopped him until very recently. In addition to his wife, Mike is survived by his Heasley cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, godchildren and many friends. Cheryl wishes to thank Allison, Lindae, Chris, Danielle, Pete and all of Catholic Hospice for their excellent care and compassion.
