Baumiller, Cathy M., Joseph A. III (Anna), Edward R. (Catherine), Raymond E. (Donna), Lorraine A. (Ken) Street and Jayne F. Minsterman (Terry Thompson); proud grandmother of 13; and great-grandmother of 11; preceded in death by brothers and sisters. Also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. DeNILLO SAMUEL P., Sr. "COACH" The world lost a powerful force on Sunday, May 8, 2016, with the passing of Samuel DeNillo, age 78, of Harrison City. Our world will not be the same. Loving husband of Joyce (Carpenter); loving and adored father of Samuel (Lauren), Mark (Jill), Todd (Michele); best and loving grandfather to multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren; wonderful uncle to many; son of the late Sarah DeNillo; adored brother of Emily (Edward) Branzel, and the late Louis (Cora) DeNillo and Linda Bucklew; brother-in-law of Linda (the late, Regis) Getsy. Sam played football for Turtle Creek High School and Arizona State. He was happy and content with family and coaching Penn Trafford football midgets. He retired in October 2012 after he had coached for 47 years but was always on the field. Sam was a great mentor and role model to many. He was inducted into the East Boro Hall of Fame in 2005, chosen Man of the Year in Penn Trafford, and served on the board of Penn Trafford Recreation Commission. Friends will be received Tuesday and Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the LINDSAY - JOBE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3343 Route 130, Harrison City (724-744-2721). KING DOROTHY MAE (SCHAUER-KENDRICK) Age 87 passed away on May 6, 2016, at The Legacy, Georgetown, Texas with her Children by her side. Dottie was born May 8, 1928, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to C. William and Mildred Schauer. She was a graduate of Hampton High School and studied voice from the age of six with her Mother accompanying her on piano. Dottie sang in the Church choir for over 50 years and in her youth, sang in musical productions and for weddings. She was a faithful Christian and a Presbyterian Elder and volunteered at Church, Meals on Wheels and Harmarville Rehabilitation Center in Pittsburgh. Dottie's two greatest aspirations were to sing and to have children. Dottie was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald F. Kendrick in 1992, and her second husband, Robert S. King in 2014. She is survived by her children, Lisa (Regis) Gmuer, Susan Dunaway, Donald (Lynn) Kendrick and David (Pamela) Kendrick; stepchildren, Kitty (Mike) McGahey, Pat (Jessie) King, Robert King; as well as seven grandchildren; and many friends. OLIVERIO JOSEPH JOHN Age 72, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2016, at home in Brandon, FL with his family at his side. He was a retired Fireman from the Pittsburgh Fire Department in Pittsburg, PA. Joseph was a highly decorated Airborne Infantrymen who served during the Vietnam War and was the recipient of many awards including the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, CIB, and Rangers Tab, just to name a few. He loved motorcycles and cars and was a “Jack of All Trades”. He will be greatly missed. Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, JoAnn Oliverio; his children, Jeffrey Oliverio (Debora) and Desiree Oliverio; his sisters, Phyllis Davidson (Larry) and Deanna Kornick (Lee); grandchildren, Jacob and Taylor Marie; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Beloved husband of the late Carla (DaPra) Morasca; loving father of Jenna Morasca; son of the late Samuel and Suzanne Morasca; brother of Samuel (Leslie) Morasca, Peter Morasca, John Morasca, and the late James Morasca; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mike graduated from Chartiers Valley High School and attended Milligan College, TN. After college, he played for the New York Stars in the World Football League. Mike was a member of the Station Engineers Local 95. He was on the Board of Directors of the National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame, Pittsburgh Chapter, and was Director of Engineering for the Westin Convention Center Hotel, Pittsburgh. Mike was an avid golfer, Pittsburgh Sports Fan, and car enthusiast, especially corvettes. Mike also adored all animals. Most of all, he loved spending time with family and friends, during Christmas, enjoying his favorite wine and cigars and playing Mario Brothers with his daughter. MICHELUCCI LAURA LEE Age 76, passed away Mother's Day, Sunday, May 8, 2016, peacefully at her Castle Shannon home with her family at her bedside. The daughter of the late William and Marie Bartman, Laura was born in Pittsburgh, PA and grew up in Arlington. She had three sisters, Sandra (Charles “Junior” Freestone) Bartman, Terry (Mark) Stein and the late Marian Bartman. She is survived by her husband, Merle, whom she was married to for 58 years and he lovingly referred to her as “Bubbles”. Laura and Merle raised four beautiful children, Michelle (the late Martin) Obeldobel, Lindae (Brian) Day, Andrea (Joe) Kuklis and Mark (Kim) Michelucci. Laura was not only a loving and caring mother, but a dedicated and doting grandmother to Chelsey and Mitchell Day and Gavin Michelucci. Laura worked at the Pennsylvania State Department of Revenue office for nine years assisting citizens with state and tax rebate issues. Later in life she served as a caretaker for the elderly. Her passion though, was her family. She loved talking to her kids and grandkids and cherished conversations about the latest happenings in all their lives. Her smile, laugh and sincere interest in her family and friends' lives will be sorely missed. Per Laura's request, there is no visitation. DeMICHIEI ELIZABETH “BETTY” PATRICIA Passed away quietly at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Cathy DeMichiei after an extended battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was the youngest of five children born to Slovenian immigrants, Louis and Eva (Kusner) Maver. She grew up and resided in the western Pennsylvania coal mining town of Renton (Plum Borough) and graduated from Turtle Creek High School in 1939, the only one of her family to do so. After graduation, she worked for a telephone company, during World War II in the office of a defense contractor, and eventually at the Union Dairy in New Kensington. She married Emil DeMichiei on June 21, 1947, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Oakmont. They resided in Renton until 1959 when PPG Industries transferred Emil to Crestline, Ohio, where he worked until retirement in 1984. They resided in Crestline from 1959 until moving to the Lutheran Home of Mercy in Napoleon, Ohio in 2002, where she resided for many years until moving to Alexandria, Virginia. Betty enjoyed baseball all of her life. She was a fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates, attending many games at the old Forbes Field, and later, after moving to Ohio, followed the Cleveland Indians, listening to many a game on the radio. She enjoyed golf, playing bridge with her friends, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Joseph Parish in Crestline, and active in its Bible Study Club. Betty is survived by her son, Dr. Mark DeMichiei (Cathy) of Alexandria, VA; three grandchildren, Michael (Susanne) of Monterey, CA, Mariel (Kevin) Perkins of Bahrain, and Matthew (Mary) DeMichiei of Newmarket, U.K.; great-grandchildren, Damine DeMichiei, and Noah and Zara Perkins; and one sister, Ann Erro, of Cranberry, PA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil in 2002; her sister, Hilda Berlinski (1985); brother, Joseph Maver (1997); and sister, Mary Regotti (2007). Friends are being received Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the STEPHEN P. DOLENCE, JR. FUNERAL HOME, INC., 557 Unity Center Road (Plum). COLLINS PATRICIA Patty Collins, of Blackridge, died May 7, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fran and Ruth Collins. She was the sister of Greg and Kevin (Tracey) of Swissvale; aunt of Kristi (Jeremy Oldenski) and Kari (Michael Shovlin); and great-aunt of Annalyse, Declan, Jacob and Farrah. She is also survived by her faithful companions, Stella and Gracey; her aunts, Audrey Ballou and Betty Clark, the Collins, McQuade/Moir, Welsh, Clark and Dolan cousins and a multitude of friends. Patty grew up in Swissvale, attended St. Anselm's Grade School and Swissvale High School where she made lifelong friends who continue to meet regularly. She graduated from Slippery Rock University, joined the Kappa Delta sorority and is still close to her KD sisters. Patty was a coach for Swissvale Girls Softball before entering the Air Force serving as a Sergeant throughout the United States until 1979. Patty settled in Altadena, CA, where she loved her neighbors and was a WNBA season ticket holder. She came back East every year for her nieces' annual dance shows. A career in broadcasting started with CNN then continued with NBC in the Burbank news division. Patty was one of the first female Engineers at the network. During her time at NBC, she was active in corporate sports competitions and Pat had the best group of co-workers she could ask for. Patty loved Tom Brokaw and was part of his team at the Winter and Summer Olympics for more than 14 years. Patty traveled for "Where in the World is Matt Lauer" and covered major news stories such as the OJ Trial, Ronald Regan's death and the renewal of the Osbourne's. Upon retirement, Patty returned to Pittsburgh, bought a house with an extensive garden she enjoyed maintaining. Her home became a gathering place for her close family and she hosted daily pool parties. In her spare time, Patty enjoyed crafting and quilting which resulted in unique, one-of-a-kind quilts being given to almost every baby she had a connection with and celebrated her lifelong friends' 60th birthdays. Patty traveled to Africa for two photographic safaris this past October and published her work. Friends will be received Thursday, May 12, 2016, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the THOMAS L. NIED FUNERAL HOME, INC., 7441 Washington Street, Swissvale, PA.
