He is survived by wife, Joanne (Parilac); daughters, Jennifer (Bryan) Pribanic, Natalie (John) Loughrey and Catherine (Michael) Tokosh; also grandchildren, Heather Betancourt, Hannah, Benjamin, and Emma Pribanic, and Shannon and Liam Loughrey; and a cadre of dearly loved dogs, Duke, Maisy, Daisy, Juno, Nittany, Riley, Ollie and River. Following his Brentwood High School (BHS) graduation in 1957, Rich earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Industrial Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh, he was subsequently commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. After fulfilling his military obligation, Rich married one of his fellow graduates of the BHS Class of 1957, Joanne. In 1967, Rich began his 20 year career with Rockwell International as an Information Systems Manager. When a corporate buyout ended this position, Rich returned to school and obtained a Master's Degree from Carnegie Mellon University, in the Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy, which led to securing a position of Director of Information Systems at Uniontown Hospital until his retirement. While Rich was an avid fan of all Pittsburgh sports, including the Steelers, Pirates and Pitt football, he had a special heart for Penguins hockey, and was a season ticket holderfor over 20 years, having the pleasure of being present for the Pen's playoff run to Stanley Cup victory in 1991 and 1992. In the last decade of his life, Rich's passion for the history of local sports became a motivator for him to research and author three books, Batter Up, Brentwood Youth Baseball in the Early Years, Hail, Hail to Brentwood High, which chronicles the Brentwood High School football program over the decades, and Brentwood Girls Rule, a review of the women's basketball program. Copies of which are held in the collection of the Brentwood Public Library. Rich was an active member of the Brentwood community where over the years he served on the Brentwood Planning Commission, the St. Sylvester School Board, the Brentwood HistoricalSociety and the Brentwood Alumni Association. He also coached youth softball, developed and taught an SAT Prep Course to local students, was the beloved Master of Ceremonies for each BHS Class of 1957 reunion, the honorary Beadling 1993 Girls Soccer Team statistician, and most recently, served on the Brentwood Hall of Fame Committee, which awarded him the Spirit of Community Award in 2018.
