JESSICA CHRISTIE FINNEGAN Age 51, passed away suddenly on Monday, August 10, 2020, of Orlando FL, formerly of Pittsburgh, PA. Daughter of Sue Ann Finnegan (Yost). Jessica is survived by her loving daughter, Hannah Grabill; fiancé, Tom Ferrell; five brothers and sisters, John (Lisa) Yost, Ann Finnegan, Deborah (John) Durant, Rachel (Daniel) Christman, David (Beth) Finnegan and a large American-Irish family of rowdy and vibrant Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, Friends and wonderful Colleagues. Jessica was a graduate of Edinboro University. She was the CEO/Founder of Good Human Pet Business Experts. Jessica was a proud board member of IBSPA. She enjoyed the beach, traveling, adventures, watching a great movie, and spending time on new adventures with her beautiful daughter, Hannah and loving fiancé, Tom. Jessica was proud of her Irish heritage. She was a proud business owner and national industry speaker. Jessica loved being around her passionate family for laughter and great craic. Family and close friends will be received at the Mount Royal Cemetery Chapel 2700 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw, PA 15116 on Saturday, Sept 5, 2020, promptly at 11 a.m. for the Memorial Service in the chapel with the gravesite services immediately following. ANNA MAY (ZAKEN) JANICKI Age 90, of Port Orange, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 1st, 2020. Anna May was born on May 22nd, 1930, in Elizabeth, PA. The beloved wife of the late Daniel Janicki was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Mary Zaken; her brothers, Michael (Margaret), George (Mary), and John (Mary), sister Julie (Victor) Spernak, all of Elizabeth, PA; and daughter, Debra Suckell Neander. She leaves behind her sister, Janet (Fred) Rethage, and sons, Edward Suckell of Elizabeth, PA and Vincent (Fawn) and Scott Suckell of Port Orange, Florida, whom most recently passed; grandchildren, April Rahner Neander and Kimberly (Robert) Schoembs; along with four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, will all miss her infectious smile. She lived the first half of her life in Elizabeth, PA and moved to Florida, where she became a local artist. WAYNE HARRY HELLER, SR. Passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2020. He was 81 and lived in Blawnox, PA, with his beloved partner, Helen Swegard and his dog, Delaney. Loving father of Carlene (Ike), Rene (Doug), and Michael and the late Wayne (survived by Shirley); Grandpap to Krystal, Mike, Bryan, Kurt, Kyle, Samantha, Taylor, Deacon and Mallory; Great-Grandpap to Mallory, Jonathan, Dominic and Isabelle; son of the late Lawrence and Frances (Hazen) Heller. Wayne served four years in the US Army. He spent many years in the automotive field doing auto body and repairs. He loved going with his buddies to Canfield, Ohio parts meet a couple times a year, “clown”ing around and cracking jokes, making others laugh, playing tricks on people… just being with his friends and family made him happy. He spent the last few years with his love, Helen, whom he adored. He had a serious sweet tooth, so the next time you enjoy a chocolate chip cookie…think of him. No service will be held. REVEREND WALTER A. SOBON Age 79, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2020. Born in Aliquippa, he was the son of the late Walter P. and Pearl E. (Bosky) Sobon; brother of Patricia (Ronald) Rock; uncle of Timothy (Kim) and Jonathan (Sarah) Rock; great-uncle of Sarah, Nicholas, Cameron, and Kenzie Rock. Dear friend and companion of Diana Miller. Father Sobon was ordained by Bishop John J. Wright on May 13, 1967. He served as Pastor of the Church of the Ascension in Ingram for 18 years. For five years he served as the Director and Chaplin of St. Anthony's School in Oakmont as well as other assignments within the Diocese of Pittsburgh. Family and friends will be received SUNDAY from 4-8 p.m. and Monday from 9-9:45 a.m. at the Ascension Worship Site, St. Philip Parish. 114 Berry St., Ingram. DONALD A. "DON" BRITCHER Donald A. “Don” Britcher (Upper St. Clair) passed away from pancreatic cancer on Tuesday, August 18, 2020. Born July 12, 1947, he grew up in Forest Hills, PA. Don was the beloved husband of Phyllis J. Britcher. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Dorothy Britcher; and his brother, James. He is survived by his treasured children, Craig and Kelly Britcher; his stepdaughters, Valerie (Andy) and Pia (Raul) Ferraro; and his sister, Barb McGee. Much beloved, he was “Papa Don” to his grandchildren, Anthony, Joe, Louisa and Colette; and “UD” to his nieces and nephew. Don worked at Gordon Terminal Service Company for many years. His multitude of hobbies included being a DJ and building a massive train layout. He loved nothing more than a house and yard full of family and friends. Donnieworld was a fun and welcoming place, home to many of his building projects and games. He was a sports enthusiast and an avid golfer. His legacy of love and humor will live on in all of us forever. Due to the restrictions of COVID-19, there will be no public funeral services at this time; however, a celebration of Don's life will hopefully be held next summer with the hopeful receding of the pandemic. Joanne was a kind and gentle soul. She loved to watch her Penguins but she enjoyed her visits with her family most of all. RENA MAHR JOHNS Age 93, of Longwood Retirement Community of Oakmont, formerly of Wilkinsburg, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 17, 2020. Loving wife of the late Lee P. Johns, Sr. for over 50 years; mother of Phillip A. (Mybinh) Johns, the late Lee P. Johns, Jr., Amanda J. (Daniel M., Sr.) Thiessen, and Jennifer J. (Jack M.) Sheekey; grandmother of seven; great-grandmother of four. Rena was born in Wilkinsburg, in 1927, to the late Harry John Mahr and Agnes Catherine Lynch Mahr. She grew up in Trafford with her sister, Lois Mahr (deceased); and two brothers, Harry J. Mahr (deceased), and George G. Mahr. Rena graduated from Trafford High School in 1945. Thereafter, she attended Columbia Hospital Nursing School for three years and was a Cadet in the Nurse Corps of WWII. She married Lee P. Johns, Sr. on August 27, 1949. She was an active member of the Women's Club of Wilkinsburg, PEO (Philanthropic Educational Organization), and South Avenue United Methodist Church (Wilkinsburg). After moving to Longwood at Oakmont Senior Living Facility, she became involved with Stephen's Ministry and Longwood's social committee, decorating committee, music and exercise programs, and was also a volunteer in the gift shop. HERBERT McLUCKIE Peacefully on Wednesday, August 19, 2020. Beloved husband of 61 years to Marjorie. Loving father to Scott (Vicki) and Jennifer (Ed) Gould. Adored grandfather of Casey and Carson McLuckie and Annie, John, and Katie Gould who were his pride and joy. He was preceded by his parents, Adolphus and Mabel McLuckie and his sister, Janet Ruprechet. Herb grew up in Leetsdale and worked for H H Robertson in Ambridge. He was a proud veteran of the US Army who served in the Korean War. Herb lived a Christian life and was an active member of Community Presbyterian Church of Ben Avon. He sang in the choir and was always willing to help, no task was too small. He loved the theater. He was an usher at the Benedum Center and was a founding member of Community Theatre Players. Herb had a smile for everyone. His gentle spirit, kind heart, and deep faith were apparent to all who met him. More than anything, he loved his family who will miss him dearly. WILLIAM L. McKAVENEY William L. McKaveney, Shaler Twp. It is with great sadness that the family announce Bill's passing on August 19, 2020, at the age of 50. Husband of Melissa Uphoff; father of Savannah McLean (Justin), Austin McKaveney, Amber McKaveney, and Dallas McKaveney; grandfather of Amyra McLean and Aiyla McLean; son of the late Edward and Mary McKaveney; brother of Theresa McKaveney, Christina Malkin (Brian), and Edward W. McKaveney (Amy). Bill will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. Bill was a loving husband, proud father and Pap. He always was a helping hand to his family and friends. Bill will be remembered by his unconditional faith that he instilled in raising his family and used to guide his life through good and difficult times. Nothing was more rewarding to Bill than being a spectator at all of his children's events. He enjoyed swimming, fishing, telling a good tale, and in his younger years practical pranks.
