CLELIA (DEPASQUALE) SCIULLI Age 91, on July 14, 2020. Born an American citizen on March 14, 1929, in Gamberale, Italy, to the late Nicola and Nunziata (Casciato) DePasquale. Her father had become an American citizen while working in America in the 1920's. He passed away when mom was 2, she never knew her father whom she always revered for having given her the gift of America and freedom. She married the love of her life, Michelangelo, in 1950 and they emigrated to America in 1952 with their first born, Carmela. They settled in the Oakland area of Pittsburgh. Over the next several years, because of her citizenship, she was able to help many family members emigrate to America. Mum was an exceptional cook and baker. She and her sister, Gemma, became talented cookie bakers and shared their talent and love of baking for many paesani weddings. She was a devout Catholic, especially devoted to the Blessed Mother. She lived her life selflessly and honorably, with grace, humility and altruism. She was proudly dedicated to and fiercely protective of her husband and family. Mum always took the back seat and never sought attention nor the spotlight. She was always willing to lend an ear or a guiding hand and her words of wisdom touched many lives, especially her children and grandchildren whom she adored. If you walked in her home, you were greeted with a sangweech, a cup of coffee and pizzellesno one ever left hungry from Nonna's house. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Michelangelo. She will be forever missed by her children, Carmela (Anthony) Corradetti; Antonio (Ann) Sciulli; and Nancy (Sabatino, Jr.) DiNardo; her grandchildren, Luciano Corradetti, Sabrina Corradetti; Melissa (A.J.) Sciulli-Greco; Dr. Jessica Sciulli (Ramon Catania); Gabriella (Jonathan) DiNardo Hash; Bianca DiNardo, Esq., and Sabatino DiNardo, III; and great-grandchild, Nico Corradetti. She was predeceased by sisters, Ada (Antonio) and Gemma (Donato) Pollice; brother, Francesco (Clotilde) DePasquale; brothers-in-law, Adelmo (surviving Pasqua) Sciulli; and Domenico (surviving, Nicoletta) Sciulli; and sisters-in-law, Donata (Vincenzo) Sciulli, Dora (Nello) Vertolli. She is also survived by sister-in-law, Lina (Antonio) D'Andrea and many nieces, nephews and friends. There is a void in our hearts that will never be filled. Her legacy of love for faith, family, friends and country will live on in each of us. May you rest in eternal peace, Mammina, until we meet again. Job well done. Visitation and Funeral mass will be private due to COVID 19. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Regis Church.
