CROOKSHANK VERA (MILLER) Age 85, of Moon Township, formerly of McKeesport, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by the love of her family on Wednesday, March 22, 2017. She was born in McKeesport on September 30, 1931, to the late G. Elmer and Rachel Audrey (McMillan) Miller. Beloved wife for 60 and a half years to William A. Crookshank; loving mother of William A. Crookshank, Jr. of Moon Township and Daniel (Janice) Crookshank of Peters Township; cherished grandmother of Abigail, Andrey, and Zachary; sister of the late Gerry (Bud/Clyde) Gillespie; sister-in-law of Gilbert (Nancy) Crookshank of Lancaster, PA, Susie (Tom) Farrell of GA, the late Clifford (Ruth) Crookshank and the late Lorraine (Matthew) Sherwin; aunt of Marty, Jim, Eddie, Judy, Patty, Debbie, Janet and Laura; also, grandnephews and nieces. Vera was a member of Sharon Community Presbyterian Church and would always volunteer. An avid reader, she also volunteered at Moon Township Volunteer Library and did their scheduling. Vera had been a secretary for Gulf Oil in Pittsburgh. In earlier years, she and her husband were band parent chaperones and kept the concession stand well stocked. Vera was proud to be first chair for clarinet in the McKeesport Band. Visitation Sunday 2-4, 6-9 p.m. at COPELAND'S MOON TOWNSHIP, 981 Brodhead Rd.
