MICHAEL NATHAN TASK Michael Nathan Task passed away in his home in Vernon, CT on Friday, September 18, 2020. Mike was a devoted and loving son to his parents, Karen Task and the late Allen Task. He was a true friend to his brother, Keith and a kind owner to his dog, Dexter; grandson of the late Thomas and Lydia Porter and Louis and Fay Task. Mike is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Mike was a Pittsburgh native and graduated from Baldwin High School in 2003. He then earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Pittsburgh in Materials Engineering. Because of his love of Pitt and Materials Science, he continued his education and earned his PhD in the same field. Directly after graduating, he joined Pratt and Whitney and has been there for the past eight years in various roles, including Senior Materials Engineer and Discipline Chief. Mike also had various hobbies, some of which were photography, beer brewing, camping and hiking. Friends will be received at the JOHN F. SLATER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, on Friday, September 25, 2020 from 4-8 p.m. Due to the current public health crisis, masks and social distancing guidelines must be adhered to.
