ROY JAMES DUTTINE, SR. Peacefully passed away at home on Friday, September 18, 2020, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 88. Born July 26, 1932, in Pittsburgh, son of the late Edward and Rose Ann (Sears) Duttine; loving husband of Dolores E. (Rosing) Duttine; most loved and devoted father of Christine Wacker (Tim) Spirko, Linda (Gary) Klein, Debra (the late Jack) Schultz, Michelle (Timothy) Hackel and Roy, Jr. (Renee) Duttine; brother of the late Raymond, Francis, Paul, Clarence, Charlo and Joe Duttine, Dolores Koenig and Rosemary Kowalewski; survived by his dear brother Bill "Zip" (Carol) Duttine. Roy was the adored Pap to fourteen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren. Roy was a proud and humble man who worked as a skilled auto mechanic and could rebuild a transmission in his sleep. In his younger days, Roy enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and playing softball and football for many Arlington neighborhood teams. Roy was a member of the Krazy 8 Camp in Tidioute where he enjoyed time with his family and friends. Something magic in the air when Roy was "up the 8" because there he became a country boy-cowboy hat, boots and all-and enjoyed hours just sitting by the fire on the river listening to and singing his favorite Hank Williams tunes. Most of all, Roy loved spending time and making memories with his cherished family. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a unique way of putting things into words-the memories will forever make us smile. Roy will be missed deeply by his family. Our thanks to AHN Hospice team, especially nurse Jennifer Taylor, for the compassionate and loving care she provided to our beloved Roy for the last two years. Family and friends will be received at the JOHN F. SLATER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Tuesday, September 22, 2020, from 2-8 p.m. Masks and social distancing guidelines must be adhered to. Funeral services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you be extra kind to someone today. Please send condolences to www.johnfslater.com. Send condolences post-gazette.com/gb
