ALLISON JAMES W., Sr. Age 92, of Monroeville, on Wednesday, October 31, 2018. Beloved husband of the late Carol L. (Merritts) Allison; father of James W. Allison, Jr. (Jean) and Timothy K. Allison (Jane); eight grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren; brother of Harry Allison, Dick Allison, Dorothy Baker, Virginia Shields, and the late Don, Eleanor, William, Martha and David; he is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was born in New Alexandria to the late Merle and Mary (Caldwell) Allison. Jim retired from the Bettis Atomic Lab, where he was a manufacturing engineer, and was a highly decorated WWII, veteran having served in the US Army Paratroopers. Jim served as Potentate of the Syria Temple in 1990, and held other offices within the Syria Temple for many years. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Friday at the GENE H. CORL, INC.
