STEGER HAL Age 61, formerly of Squirrel Hill, died peacefully in his Half Moon Bay, CA home on Thursday, October 18. Hal was the third child of Wilbur and Sheila Steger, both deceased. He married the love of his life, Joanne Brown, in 1986. In addition to Joanne, he is survived by two daughters, Jenny Steger and Laura Steger; his brothers, Edward (Cathy) and Jeffrey (Janice); his sister, Fran (Barry); and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, Brown family members, and loving friends throughout the world. Hal graduated from Allderdice High School, the University of Michigan, and Carnegie Mellon. He made a career and name for himself in Silicon Valley, where he worked tirelessly at more than a dozen start ups, helping to bring them to life. Hal was a wonderful collaborator, leader, and mentor. Humor was ever present. He encouraged those around him to follow their dreams. Second only to wanting his girls to thrive in all ways was his wish to see all his beloved Pittsburgh sports teams win every game every year.
