PETRELLA JASON MICHAEL The angels are always near to those who are grieving, to whisper to them that their loved ones are safe in the hand of God. On January 8, 2018, Jason Michael Petrella, age 42, of Monaca, died suddenly from natural causes. Jason was a 1994 graduate of Monaca High School and a 1998 graduate of St. Francis College. He received his Master's degree from the School of Public and International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh in 2008. He spent the majority of his career in banking with positions in Washington D.C. and Columbus, OH before returning home. Anyone who knew Jason, knew his true passion was politics and government. He ran for the State Senate in 2008 and remained engaged in politics throughout his life. He thoroughly enjoyed talking to people and learning more about them. Jason was an Officer in the Monaca Sons of Italy Lodge, and member of the Monaca Wolves Club and Beaver County Chamber of Commerce. Jason is survived by his Father and best friend, Donald E. Petrella (Sherry), of Monaca and his Mother, the late Paula M. Petrella. He was the loving brother to his sisters, Lisa Petrella, of Shaler and Robyn (Pete) Tsudis, of Ben Avon. He was a treasured uncle to nieces, Mia, Nella and Sofia Tsudis and Grace and Isabella Neff who will miss him always. Jason is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Friends will be received on Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the SIMPSON FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca where prayers will be offered on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca.
