GERSTEL ALICE J. (CAPCARA) Alice J. Gerstel left this world peacefully in the hands of the Lord with her family by her side. Age 79, of Penn Hills, on Thursday, November 23, 2017. Daughter of the late Andrew and Julia Capcara; beloved wife of 51 years to Robert K. Gerstel; loving mother of Robert (Sharon) Gerstel, Jeannie (Barry) Soxman and Timothy (Barbara) Gerstel; grandmother of Dustin, Heidi, Christy, Josh, Shannon, Douglas, Robby, Laura and Rebecca; great-grandmother of Abby, Katie, Hailey, Natalie, Jasper, Sawyer, Elijah, Aubryana, Makayla and Josiah; sister of Helen Krause, Paul (Bonnie) Capcara and the late William Capcara, Frank Capcara, George Capcara, Julie Suska and Kupie Haluszczak; loving foster mother of Judy, Johnny and Jenny. She loved gardening, cooking and playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Friends received Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at SOXMAN FUNERAL HOMES, LTD., 7450 Saltsburg Road (at Universal Road), Penn Hills. Mass of Christian Burial Monday 10 a.m. at St. Gerard Majella Church.
