She was born May 3, 1923, in Youngstown, Ohio, the youngest of seven children of Pietro and Concetta Marchetti, Italian immigrants from Roccaraso, Abruzzo, Italy. She was a National Honor Society graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, Youngstown, and was working when she met the love of her life, Bernard J. Fischione of Pittsburgh, whom she married July 19, 1948. The couple shared 62 happy years of married life, most of those in Moon Township, where they moved in 1961. Helen was a longtime teller at the former Western Pennsylvania National Bank, later Equibank, in Moon. She also worked as a mail teller at the former Mellon Bank, Downtown; at the library of what is now Robert Morris University, Moon; and at the former Joe Weider Fitness Center in Moon. She was a member of the St. Margaret Mary Women's Guild and Christian Mothers and helped with the church funeral luncheons. In addition, she was a wonderful mother and a marvelous cook and baker, preparing delicious homemade Italian and American dishes such as manicotti, spaghetti, pizza, apple pie, biscotti and pizzelles. Helen also did beautiful needlework, and was never happier than when she had a baby on her lap. She was preceded in death by her husband, who passed away on July 20, 2010; her parents; and her siblings: brothers, Mike (Anibale), Raymond, Joseph and Louis Marchetti; and sisters, Mary Mooney and Phyllis (Philomena) Filipcic. She is survived by her children, Sandra Fischione Donovan (Dan) of Moon and James Fischione (girlfriend Vickie Somers) of New Wilmington. Also surviving are her beloved grandchildren, Daniel Donovan (Lynda) of Potomac Falls, VA, Elena Donovan Mauer (Anthony) of Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY, and Neil Donovan, Moon. She is also survived by her treasured great-grandchildren, Ryan Mauer, Maeve Donovan, Ian Donovan and Dylan Mauer; and by many dear nieces and nephews.
