MERRITT JOSEPH MICHAEL March 12, 1953-August 23, 2017. Joe Merritt died unexpectedly on August 23, 2017, while running before work a regular, routine exercise. He will be remembered as a proud father, loyal brother, enthusiastic home improvement person, a wonderful friend to many at work and in his community, and a compassionate health care professional. In 1992, Joe returned to college to study physical therapy, but soon switched to the Physician's Assistant program at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA where he earned a Master's degree. Joe enjoyed a good tale and could often be found in a group by looking for the laughter; he would be smiling and enjoying the amusement of others in his latest story. Joe is survived by his son, Andrew; seven brothers and sisters; eight nieces and nephews; and six grandnieces and grandnephews; Susanna's mother, Sue (Hunter) Perrin; Susanna's two brothers; and four nieces and nephews.
